I posted in another thread about my new 512 road-front protected land but no road yet.
Does anyone know how long it takes the the moles to make a road or will it stay this way for years?

My guess is that until region crossings improve you won't see much development in the road system. Can only hope.

if you are on mainland and your roadside land doesnt have a road by now, you will probably never have a road.

Yup it's mainland but from all the yellow a recent area, guess I will just have to wait and see.
Personally I don't see the point in making a protected road without finishing it.I wanted to see all the silly cars and stuff chug by. _____________________

I think that road in front of us has been undeveloped since 2003...
![]() Personally after seeing the lag nightmare of Zindra, I'm glad its grass. I consider its value to be a protected view and access way - not a road. Looking at some of the other roads on mainland, some of them were nice looking, and some are built in such a way that every time you ride past a sim border that slight lag spike is just enough to throw you -under- the road, but no access back up exists... leaving you forced to TP out. Given that Zindra shows that Linden building skills have gone down in recent years, if they built a road along our route - it'd probably be that flawed variety - just slightly elevated road, with a border along the sides, so that you can conviently get slipped under it when you cross sims or lag while in the same sim... (Somewhere I still have a LM to the road that I would slip under, as I was planning to originally buy next to it before I discovered that.) Oh, and our Sim isn't new - we're smack dab in the middle of the continent. A neighbor who was near me when I arrived (but since moved away) told me my plot is right about where a giant near sim wide sex club had its front door at one point... Judging by some of my visitors, that seems reasonable to believe. Every now and then French guys with giant prim penises are found hiding in the bushes around my land... _____________________

That's one of the 'new' contintents. I think I read that LL would be working on the Korean continent - old southern mainland continent - roads next. It's on their plate, though. See the bottom of http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Department_of_Public_Works_Roads. _____________________

It can indeed take a good long time in some cases. I would suggest advocating for the road in your area at Michael Linden's office hours (Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. SLT), support ticketing it, or otherwise push on that route. _____________________

They're currently working on Route 9 and 10 on Jeogeot (the "Korean Continent" , and Circuit La Corse in Corsica. Here's a recent update on the latter:https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/land/dpw/blog/2009/08/12/the-lordshore-bridge _____________________

That got stalled after they completely trashed the terraforming of a couple of sims, by building a deep roadbed for no apparent reason (the ground level was a shallow hill many sims wide, and there's no way they were going to be able to maintain a level roadbed that far) and residents complained. That the Linden builders could not cope with making a road that follows a simple hill such as you describe speaks volumes about the lack of skill in their choice of builders. _____________________
Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

Make a road, attach it to a large amount of prims on your property and then drag the road section out to where the road should be. Self-Help is sometimes the only help your ever going to get. Then send a picture to Michael Linden.

I live on Jeogeot, the southern mainland big island. Official roadbuilding has been going on steadily, but sadly it hasn't reached the protected route past my home yet. I've been waiting patiently for over 2 years. Message to LDPW..... yes please, road ASAP, but please keep it at ground level, not up on a big wall! _____________________

Three years before we got half a road, we had to ask a Linden to get the rest of it, and it stops at the end of our sim.

One can drive on the grass, can't they? Some cars don't work as well on prims as they do on terrain.
