I've just installed Windows 7 and have tried getting onto Second Life however while SL loads up it fails, it gets upto the handshake part then comes up with a message saying

we're having trouble connecting. There may be a problem with your internet connection or the second life servers

I have tried the second life viewer 1.22.11.113941 and also the Release Candidate Viewer 1-23-1-119104, both come up with same message. Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? I didn't have a problem on XP and don't want to downgrade just because of 1 program.

The Windows 7 firewall may be blocking SL. Turn it off and see if you can connect.

If you can't, sorry, I'm not sure what else it could be.

If you can connect, and want to continue using the Windows Firewall, you'll need to go to the SL support site and look up what ports to open for SL.

32 or 64 bit version? Graphics card? Drivers? (^_^)

I ran Win7x64RC last night with the Nvidia Forceware drivers and zero issues with LL's and Boy Lane's clients. Actually, I saw double my prior FPS from running in 32Bit XP. (^_^)y

I found that the problem was my F-Secure firewall, I disabled it and got onto SL, now I have added a rule which allows any IP traffic, I'm kind of worried about this as I think this has left my computer open to viuses and such. Am I correct in assuming this? Also anyone know how to setup F-Secure to allow Second life without doing what I have done?
