Is there a new bug with linden plants and trees?
I certainly know the silly rules about not being able to use them anywhere but your own land. And the same flag that makes it impossible to rez coalesced objects with linden trees in them.
Today i found an odd one. I am building a parcel for a friend, who has set my group role permissions to include linden plant abilities....but i still get the "only owners can use linden plants" warning.
Has anyone ever seen this?
As i typed this i thought of something to try, clear group cache....but it didn't work =/
Halp!! I really don't want to have to buy the land just to put some grass down...

The ability to plant linden trees/grasses is a group ability. I don't recall if officers have that ability by default, but you just need to get the group owner to grant your role that specific ability.
Edit - sorry didn't read properly. Is this land group-owned? If it is not group owned (i.e. just set to group) then the group land abilities are meaningless - they only work on group owned land. If the land is still owned by your friend, then only your friend will have those various powers.

Obviously I'm a newb...I've seen lots of references to Linden plants and trees. Can someone point me to information on Linden trees? How do you come by them, how many prims to they take and anything else about them? I searched the SL site and see a number of video tutorials, but I'm unable to view them here at work. I'd like to put something on my little lots. Thanks, all. Jackie.

Each uses only one prim, because they are built into the game engine itself and use a special resource type. Library > Objects > Trees plants and grasses
