Drifted through the wiki but I can't seem to find the answer.
Can anyone tell me at what height a structure, platform or whatever stops appearing in the Map and obscuring the view of the terrain ?

I would say between 300m and 500m, although I couldn't give you a more exact number than that. My neighbour has rezzed a giant sign at 300m above his rentals, which shows on the map, but a build that he's had at 500m for several months now does not show.

Pretty sure the cutoff is 400M.

Its in the Knowlege Base

You are correct Ceera...I finally found it in the knowldege base

"For an object to be visible on the World Map, it must be lower than 400 meters on the Z-coordinate (vertical) plane."

It also states you can't build above 768m metres....so I guess it needs updating :)

outside of some version of the RC client, to my knowledge you still can't *easily* build over 768 meters.

An annoying note - A platform right at 400 M still shows... One sim that I built has a platform at 400M, mate of two megaprims. It prints on the map. I may see if raising it to 420 would eliminate that, since I'd much rather the map showed the area below that platform.

My skybox is at 600m, and shows very nicely. Other objects around it don't, although they've been in the sky longer.

Ceera....the only thing I could think of was your mega prims boundary box stretched below 400m...BUT Senga's post sort of blows that idea away.

I have talked to Frontier Linden, who couldn't help, so I will raise a support ticket and see what answer I get.

Senga.. that simply doesn't make any sense. Is it rented? you might want to check to see if another (or several other) skyboxes are below it.

My own tests confirm that prims at 300m WILL show, prims at 599.75 will NOT show.

No... The megas in question are ones I created during the recent glitch that allowed new ones to be made. Their bounding box matches their shape - 50 M x 50 M x 0.5 M.

Mostly it's annoying. What's textured on the surface of the platforms, as well as what is textured on the normal prims on the ground, is a football field that should have looked splendid on the map. And instead the megas show as a solid green rectangle - like it's taking a cross-section of the 400 M platform.

Textures do not show up on the SURL, I have tried that over and over, the only thing that shows up is individual prims, so if you want artwork, it all has to be done in prim work.

You can if you use Nicholaz's viewers...he added it all the way back to his 1.18.5.3 version. :)

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
