What causes my avatar's thighs to look as if they're splitting? It's kind of creepy to be honest. It typically is located in the inner thigh area, sometimes in the back (if I'm in a seated position such as one of the pose balls at the Inspire Space Park). I recently noticed it when I was dancing, never noticed it before. And before anyone asks, she's not set up as a large woman. She's slender but shapely. I've tried a different skin and have made her body type thinner. It's at 50 and small enough for my liking. I've got the leg muscles set at 65. Any suggestions? Advice? Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Could it be the skin itself causing this? Have you tried another skin to see if it still does the same thing?

Is this only on a specific version of the viewer? - so I know which one to not use. I have a tendency to just not look really close at the parts of my AV - especially not at the joints ... or legs and arms and feet and hands and butt and chest and ....... you get the picture. It just seems that even the best made shape and skin cannot fully overcome all of the SL avi flaws. The basice avi really needs some improvement.

Many of the joints articulate incorrectly. It's basically cos the limbs simply draw over each other rather than blend, hence skin areas meet at nasty angles, the thighs being particularly notorious.

It also could just be the avatar mesh..... until they come up with a better mesh for the base avatar there will always be some odd or harsh angles near all the joints. Skin doesn't change this.....I've noticed it too..... there really isn't anything to be done about it..... we're just pixels in space...don't stress it. To be flawed is to be human, er, avatar.

Yes there is a large groove in the mesh that can be seen whenever you bend over. You can really notice it if you have your legs open about 45 degrees and knees lifted up towards your chest. This is on both the male and female avatars. The problem appeared during an update a long time ago.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

It can be larger in some instances than in others and also in female avi's there may be a smaller fracture leading off from the main one. I think there are some work arounds that the more successful designers use... I think the terminology is "plug"... but I'm no expert so don't quote me on that.
