You have to deed the land to a group, invite the people into the group and set the tick box that allows them to do it in permissions, I think it's on for everyone by default.

I have seen a couple instances where I've been able to set home to a non-Linden location without being a group member. I think you can do this at NCI's main location, for example. I have a neighbor who has a parcel where I set home for an alt at one point because the alt isn't part of my group for testing purposes.
How is it done without using groups... does anybody know? |

I think you can also set home if the land is only 'set' to group. 'fraid not, the land has to be deeded to group and then group members can set home on that land. You can also assign group members roles and limited powers, so they can't sell the group land, for instance. The 'Owner' or 'officers' (I think) can allow ordinary 'members' to set home. The others can only do what the Owner has given them the authority to do. _____________________

A couple of years ago I rented land out on the maingrid; the land was only set to group, and the residents were able to set to home with no problem. |

See http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-404 for the ugly history of this. (And vote--you'll be in good company
