No really I don't get it....

I am in a open group of short ADULT women... it's not a sex group...

but every week or so somebody pops into group chat with a generic "Hi", no problem so far... and out of curiousity I pop open the profile, to see what this new person is all about....

zero to minimal profile, account is less than a month old, and the listed groups are ALL things like Lolita, Sex, Teen, BDSM... you're getting the picture right?

Then invariably the person gets annoyed that no one is talking to them, despite at least a dozen or two members being online....

and I have to explain the obvious... (well it seems obvious to me)

separately those groups are harmless / legit for the most part, I take no issue with them individually. but combined they say that this person likes both of these two things, and it's not a small stretch to imagine they'd like to combine them...

so I politely explain, that having that mix of groups showing leads most people to think that the profile owner is either A: an ageplayer, or B: a legal authority trying to attract an ageplayer. either way, people are likely to avoid that profile owner, because they don't want the drama/guilt-by-association. And to fix this problem of avoidance they should simply hide groups that conflict in their profiles....

then they get offended.

I used to carry a group in my profile (back when I had spare spaces) that used to attract people like that all the time. Made it real handy for spotting the creeps. sorry they've made it to yours.

I used to know a guy in RL (who was a registered sex offender for having sex with a minor, and who I know from being around him is the classic predator pedophile) who had all sorts of rationalizations and BS reasons why "age of consent" laws are obsolete and that adult males should be allowed to have romantic/sexual relationships with "mature" younger girls. I guess it's easier than admitting that you've got an incurable paraphilia.

the part that confuses me is that I was being NICE about it, making it clear that I wasn't condemning anything, but trying to help them get people to talk to them.

I myself have groups that conflict, (mostly just two of them), so I get that people can draw the wrong (or just bad) conclusions from seeing them together.

if I didn't realize that they were displayed together and causing people to avoid me, I certainly would want to know that and how to fix it (for a long time there were some groups I wouldn't add, because you COULDN'T hide conflicting groups).

some of the people end up dropping that group, because it wasn't what the thought (the name is a bit ambiguous)... but to get mad at me for being nice enough to stop, let them know what was up... that's just... IDK insane.

maybe I should just be mean, tell them that they are either cops or perverts or idiots and that no one wants to deal with their drama, so piss off because we aren't gonna talk to them.

Maybe they are just Horny Teenagers
