What's up with the RCs?

After 8 crashes last night and one this morning, I'm about to pull my hair out. Have they straightened out the RCs yet? Safe to download? Unibrow gone yet?

Apparently not. RC download links still point to 1.22.11, which is the same as the standard viewer. Probably they're trying to fix some of the messier 1.23 problems (e.g., "unibrow";) before making the RC 1 version.

(But... are you crashing with the 1.23 RC 0 that was available for a while, or with the standard release?)

Hi Qie :)

I'm still on RC 1.22.11 which was really stable for a long time...but the past couple of days....yeesh.

A lot of the crashes have been the viewer here one moment, gone the next, not even a crash report option.

Hmmm... might be worth clearing cache and rebooting the viewer machine (on the premise that something else is running that is confusing the viewer).

I still have the RC 1.23 on a laptop. I don't think it's ever crashed, although it does have glitches and the frame rate is slow. Shadows are great though, a tempting taster of the future of SL!

I've noticed that the lipstick glitch carries back to the normal 1.22 viewer each time you log in to that, even on a different computer. But it's fixable by going into appearance and altering the lipstick.

There's a server update going on too. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

BTW, I started having regular crashes when they rolled out the rc for 1.22. Ultimately, it turned out to be a cooling problem with my computer.

I too have 1.23 installed, with a few glitches. Not many crashes tho.

Yeah it's annoying that the lipstick glitch carries on even when you switch back to the standard viewer. What I've done to rectify this is to just quickly throw on another skin, let it rez, and then switch back to the one I want and it looks normal again rather than fiddling with the sliders.

They did pull the 1.23.0 RC shortly after it was released but I suspect they will maybe release another RC today after the restarts are done. I wanna play with the RC some more but just can't seem to stomach it when I see myself looking like a clown since I have a severe case of coulrophobia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coulrophobia

I've participated in RC testing for the last several viewers. I'm not downloading and using this one until I'm forced to.

FYI - the 1.23 was pulled due to reports of virus being found in it -- though it is also thought that they were false positives. I only know one person using it and happy - but that is a male avi, so not really the same skin issues as many female avs will have.

For me, the RC was dicey until my home sim server was updated, then it was fine.

That's anecdotal evidence but would make sense.

I am using the 1.23 (public nightly release) and have no issues with it other than some weirdness around the eyelashes, but I have been seeing that in my 1.22 before getting the 1.23

and I am female, using a multitude of skins...

I regularly use the RCs. Is it possible to download the 1.23 version anywhere , even with the glitches?
Thanks

I do not crash with my viewer , never mind which version I use. Also alternative viewer do not crash here.

Most of the time the problem is located in your system--

Not from LL, they don't plan on reposting the 1.23.0RC. 1.23.1 RC is supposed to be out real soon now.
