I have an item I made, where all the parts are more than 0.01 on all directions. When i shrink it in edit mode is shrinks nicely to the size I want it.

But as soon as I leave edit mode POOF it is back to being big.

What on earth is going on ?

Simple: No prim in any linkset can be smaller than 0.010.

Sorry, let me clarify: No prim in the linkset can go below 0.010. Meaning, that in the process of shrinking the object, if a single prim goes below that number, the object will snap back to it's old size. It's a pain, but that's the absolute smallest a prim will go without some serious prim torture.

Ahhh thank you for clarifying. Now thatis an odd little bug I have never encountered. Normally it just wont let me shrink anything down further when it gets to 0.01.

Hehehe i knkow all abuot prim torture, thats what I am doing at the oment, but I knew i could still get the items smaller and it was frustrating me.

Anyway shrinking them little by little rather than a quick big to small seemed to ahve worked.

Now to texture the silly thing

And you can always chop/slice and bore holes in prims to make them smaller.

Yes, there's a viewer bug... What you need to do is shrink the thing down *almost* as far as it will let you, but not all the way. Don't shrink it all the way! You might want to close the edit window to make sure it worked. Then, shrink it again, the rest of the way. No joke. Good luck!

It could also be plain old generic lag. What you are doing in your viewer (client side) is not making it to the servers. So when you leave edit mode, the server side refreshes the object to what it believes it should be.

Oh God, I better go out and get some coffee. I first read the title as "Shrink, Penis, Shrink".

On behalf of the male members of the forum I respectfully request that you avoid using the words "shrink" and "penis" in the same sentence.

Thanks. :o

The shrinker makes it possible.
Search for shrinker on SLExchange!
