You can change the texture back if you have the right texture.

If you have the texture. you will have to edit linked parts and do them carefully. Was it a fluffy or regular tail? if you can't fix it. IM me in game I'll fix you up.

If you "made it clear" by changing the Transparency value in the texture tab of the object edit window, just turn that back down to zero.
If you made it clear by dropping an alpha texture on it, you're hosed. IM the creator and beg for a replacement.

And, in the future, buy copyable tails!

From: Taylor Lubezki Yep buy copy / mod tails. but becareful on the mod part. lol No worries if it is also Copy as long as they remember to actually make a copy before doing any of the Mod. (I forget that part a lot).

Heh. That is why, most of the time when I am building, I am in a Human form. So I don't accidentally re-texture my tail with bricks, or shingles, or whatever, by dragging the texture for my project to the wrong spot. Same goes for wearing wings while building, even if they hide/fold.
Most tails are yes copy / yes mod / no transfer. I'd stick with those, if I were you.

Careful retexturing a tail. They can be picky with Alpha channels etc. not that you can't make a copy. You can make many copies but if you don't know what you are doing texturing one you can never produce the desired results.

(And if you're worried about any kind of accidental modification you can always just lock the linkset)

From: Taylor Lubezki You SURE about that? Rez a prim, take it and wear it. Now try and drag a texture over it, it won't work.

Speaking of getting dressed up especially for building: when I began to build, I made an avatar with all most everything shrunk to smallest size (in Appearance settings), with no neck and a small, pointy head. It seemed to help a bit. Later I saw someone using a Space Navigator, and bought one for myself. I find it's really very, very helpful when building. I disable the build view in the Joystick Setup settings. Instead of using that, I press the button on the right of the SN, which gives me a freely positionable camera. I move that anywhere I want, while I build, and it stays put. Meanwhile, my avatar just stands nearby with one hand in the air, and does not block my view.
