I have had a problem with scripted objects having a red haze to them now for a week..its affects only things that are scripted....but not everything!! Its shows on vendors..contest boards..notice boards dance poles...etc..the effect is very similar to when you use ctrl+alt+T..anyone with any ideas as to what might be causing this?...thanx in advance..its becoming a real pain..particularly shopping for textures etc

Try pressing ctrl-n or checking the View menu for "Beacons always on" (or something like that) and unselecting it.

What's interesting about this is that I have been getting "highlight scripted items" ticked automatically. So after a TP sometimes I see all the scripted objects around me as red. I don't know why it happens, but it only happens for me in Windlight. I also notice my mini-map sometimes disappears and has to be re-ticked.

This has been happening to me for the past few days. I get both Red beams and blue beams. No one else seems to. Hiding particles gets rid of it, but the setting returns whenever I log in again.

Sounds like Show Updates have been enabled.. Try ctrl-alt-shift-u or unchecking it in the Client menu.
