It’s time for the Second Life Winter Holiday Celebration! It kicks off the evening of Friday, December 14, and will close the evening of Friday, January 8. This year, we’re planning some of our traditional events, as well as brewing up a couple of new surprises.

Grid-Wide Snowball Fight

On Friday, 21 December, hunting season lasts all day long. Lindens will be in world here and there throughout the day, strolling about the countryside. (OK, running for their lives.) If you spot one, feel free to start a conversation by lobbing the biggest, slushiest snowball you can find. We’ll also have announced gatherings during the day. (If you’re short on snowballs, we’ll have dispensers with freebie snowball attachments!)

nooooooo!!! I will miss it! Thats the day of my christmas party at work! arrgh! now I really want to hit a linden with a snowball lol.

I have another question... has anyone ever been hit BY a linden?

Ever been hit by a Linden? They do all kinds of weird things to me involving shoes and hair, but, no, I've never been hit by one.

Yup!

A year or two back they did a similar thing, but generally confined the Mahem to the Mephit Lodge ski resort. I whapped Jeska and Data and a bunch of other Lindens, and they happily fired right back. I lost track of how many Lindens I hit with snowballs that day.

Oh, and a few of them had 'snowball machine guns' that could deliver a rapid-fire response, so watch out!

One might think the Linden staff wouldn't cheat the users during the holiday season, during a lighthearted activity with no serious consequences at stake.

Think again. During snowball fight time, Lindens cheat.

I've seen various Lindens in various times, for odd reasons. I've seen Lindens be hit by griefers, but have never succeeded in hitting one myself, nor have I been hit by one.

(Some griefers have no brains.. they'll shoot at ANYTHING, including the ones with actual GOD MODE going for them

)

I've never seen a Linden, but I will be home that day, prepping for the holidays so I'll be inworld, snowballs in hand! Might even put some ice shards inside...

Winterland @ Del Aqua. Look for free snowball on the corner outside of "Anderson's" store.

Abranimations. Look for the free snowball that comes with the ice skates

Abracadabra. Look for a free snow there, too.
