In the event the older viewer doesn't help, you might want to post your system specs.
There are other viewers to try, such as Greenlife Emerald, Cool Viewer, Snowglobe, Nicholas, etc. I seem to get pretty good results speed-wise from the Snowglobe, or at least I did with an earlier version of it. If your problem is not solved, you might also want to describe the symptoms more fully. _____________________

Nividia GEforce 9100 That's your problem. It's really below the recommended requirements. _____________________

System requirements:
https://secure-web0.secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/ They haven't updated it for the 9000 series cards, but a 9100 is bottom of the line. Look for at least a 9400GT. The second number indicates the card's position in the lineup, so the higher the better. 9100 is the low end, 9800 the high end of the line. You may have trouble finding a computer with a fast graphics adapter for less than you could add a good one to your current computer. Assuming it's a desktop and you can add a graphics card to it. _____________________

When you want to find what's needed to run a particular program, put the name of the program, enclosed in quotes, followed by the words system requirements into a search engine, as in
"second life" system requirements. That put into Google on my system produces as the first result: https://secure-web9.secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/ If the Nividia GEforce 9100 is an integrated GPU on a portable computer then to upgrade it, you might need to replace the entire computer. _____________________

yes its a desktop so is everything else ok.. i can just put in a better graphics card? i was told when i bought it the graphics card wasnt integrated.. im not sure if i should just put in a better graphics card or trade the whole thing in for another one, i still have time to do that. im beginning to think i might be better off taking this one back and getting a diff one. and it should have at least a 9400 GE? |

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card,2387-7.html
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card,2387-7.html Relative graphics card/chip scale. The 9100 is one step above the one I had in my old computer (Geforce 3 Ti 200), which could barely run SL on the very lowest settings, so your problem is its under powered. If its a desktop system, there should be a graphics card slot, probably PCIe type. Try to get a card from the upper half of the list to run SL smoothly, and make sure its the same kind of card as the slot it will fit in |

see that is what i dont undterstand.. it says GE gorce 6600 or better.. isnt 9100 better? Now a 9100 is probably going to be better than (say) a 6200, because it's "rock bottom" for the 9000 series which is four or five years newer than the 6000 series... but comparing it to a 6600 is still a bit like comparing a 2009 Escort to a 1969 Mustang. _____________________
