Weird land texture glitch?

Today I suddenly noticed the area around my parcel can't make up it's mind whether to be grassy or sandy. That would be okay but it's not a smooth transition -- it's changing in patches!

I hope this isn't my new video card wearing out already.

Here I am beside one of these scary land pixel blight things. It's not a buried prim. I checked. Anyone seen this before? Does it go away?

I've done a lot of exploring around the grid, and I have never seen such a thing before.

Have you tried peeing on it? Perhaps those spots need to be "watered".

I would suggest having a few folks come look at it to see whether it's just you or if everyone sees it that way. If everyone sees it, maybe submitting a support ticket to fetch a Linden is in order.

I have seen something similar. There was patches of sand on my land but it wasnt squared. Was like a smudge. No one else could see it but me. It eventually went away!

It's supposed to work like that with random shifting, nothing's wrong.

ETA: the neat little squares you see are just the usual texture loading slowness, they will kick in eventually.

This isn't new, trust me. I had this lovely sandy parcel, took a photo with a house on it, sent it to rent. Tenant didn't want the house blah blah blah. When they left I decided to leave it without a home and WTF! it's gone grassyish, not lovely sandy anymore!

Since Viktoria made me worry that I don't see things that everyone else sees, I sniffed your place out in world while you were away (hope you don't mind) and had a look for myself. I don't see the little squares - it's a smooth transition between grass and sand to my eyes.

No, I didn't water the spots for you while I was there - it would be impolite to mark another dog's territory.

It will smooth out eventually. The ground gets built up in layers with a base and then a top texture. The rectangles are where the base was filed in but the top hasn't come through yet. It does seem to be more of a noticeable phenomenon this weekend with so many people on straining things.

Seems to me it could be texture cache corruption on Wes's machine. I'd try the old mantra: clear cache + relog.

Thank you for checking it for me. There's nothing impolite about leaving the doggy version of a bulletin board post around. Besides, the spots were technically below my land. I just *think* it all belongs to me.

Sure enough it's all grass this morning (where I am) and I noticed we were all kicked off the grid right after my snapshot so that probably had something to do with it. I did go shopping extensively before this happened so maybe I did fill up my texture cache. I'm acting on Qie's advice above and clearing my cache.

I'll pee on it too for good measure.
