Anyone know where to get good (got to be good) sculptie maps - can be free or pay for. I'm not interested in obtaining the sculpties themselves just the maps. I'm particularly interested in cushions and seating upholstery, sort of square/rectangular seat cushions, that sort of thing. Actually I'm interested in any sculptie maps really as long as they're high quality. Anyone know who the very best suppliers/creators are..? I've only just got into using sculpties recently so I don't as yet know who the real top artists are (though I have recently spent some time at Black Swan..wow!!). Thanks in advance..once again Perre..

Might be worth searching on SLX, I've seen them on there but as I don't use them I couldn't tell you who were the best creators.

This is probably a silly question, but why do you need the "top sculptie artists" for cushions and upholstery? Perhaps I'm missing something, but cushions are dead easy to make, being pretty simple shapes. I've seen various packs of sculptmaps for sale on SLX, and I'd be surprised if one of those didn't include furniture and cushion parts. Would they do? Why do you need the sculptie equivalent of getting Yves St Laurent to knit you some socks? If your cushions etc can be done acceptably by "average" sculptie artist, it might wind up quite a lot cheaper for you, with a pretty similar end result.

From: Desmond Shang Aminom Marvin and Hypatia Callisto. I'll check those names out..thanks..by the way the door scripts and explanatory notes were absolutely excellent!! thanks for those. Yes lots of sculptie maps but strangely none of the sort I'm looking for but I'll probably go back and have another search under another description..thanks Perre..

Cel Edman is very good too. He includes the map, and a baked shaded texture to put on it (solid white of course) in many of the packs. He mentions that it is fine to download the baked texture to play with in photoshop if you would like the shading but your own texture behind it.
Of those I've purchased his also place the vertices well so that regular textures lay on them very nicely, minimizing the bunching up at the edges.
I've also had some good luck with Rusalka Writer's sculpt maps. Not quite so particular with the vertices, but she has very well priced packs, and MANY options for pillows, cushions, etc.

Good question..I don't need the top artists for cushions n upholstery..I just need 'good'. I am however 'interested' in seeing what the top artists are doing..I'm guessing not pillows and upholstery or even a pair of socks. Yes there are packs available containing a variety of 'objects', sadly no square cushions/seat upholstery..or at least none in map form. Loads of cushions and upholstery 'sculpties'..but a lack of maps. Perre..

Yeah, he's first rate. Glad I could have been of some help, Perre. I look back on my content creation days fondly.

Cel Edman actually has a freebie pack available (I checked with him in IM and it's a genuine freebie). I think I got it from YadNi's Junkyard, in the new items section. That includes a simple round-cornered cube that makes nice basic sofa cushions.
There are instructions in the pack that they should not be sold on, but when I spoke to him he said it was fine for content creators to use them in their own works; the sculpt maps themselves were just not to be sold on, as-is.
ETA: These *are* the ones that wrinkle around the poles (see the new version of his sft pack for ones that don't) but for freebies they at least give you the chance to play around.

Thanks for all the leads folks..I visited all and bought a few packs. I did discover another name not mentioned above and thought I'd share it with you.. Areku Shirakawa (Dystopia 194, 40, 23). I already had some of her sculpties but not the maps (got the maps now) and I'd have to say her work is as near perfection as a sculptie can get. Thanks again..I've now got an inventory bulging with sculpties.. Perre..
