There is a sub forum here called resident run websites. Maybe that would be a place to start.

/128/1.html

Are you starting a blog, looking to learn about something specific in SL, or trying to get mentioned on one run by someone else?

Posting here in the forum in the 'new products' section is a great way to spread the word about your new creations. To post on a blog you most likely have to run one yourself, and you can talk about whatever you want there. Of course, then you have to get people to read it. If you do that I would list the address to your blog in your sig here on the forum.

Another option is to submit your items for review by a blogger who writes about a specific type of items. There are, for example, several blogs about the SL fashion world and clothing. To be written about your items will have to be chosen from all their recent submissions, and the blogger may have good or not so good things to say about them.

The easiest place to start is just to post here in the forums. Include pictures if you can, and a slurl to your shop.

Does that help?

A blog is a website. It's a type of website that makes it easy for the user to write something and put it on the Internet. You log in, and then it has a box that looks like the email "compose" box. You type in whatever you want to tell people, just like writing email, then when you're finished you click "post" or "publish" and whatever you just wrote will automatically appear on your website.

Some examples of SL designers' blogs are:

Tuli
http://tules.blogspot.com/

PixelDolls
http://www.nafii.com/PixelDolls/

ETD
http://blog.elikatiramisudesigns.com/

Silent Sparrow
http://hyasynth.wordpress.com/

As you can see, you can also put in pictures of your designs and latest releases.

I like blogs because anyone can see them (this forum is only open to residents who have "payment info on file";). You can keep customers updated on what you are working on, announce your latest releases, or ask for ideas and suggestions. After every post, there is a "comment" function where people who read it can comment on what you write and give you feedback. This way, you can communicate with your customers. (You can also turn the "comment" function off if you don't want to use it.)

You can make a blog for free. The top two free blog services are:

Personally, the New Products Forum is the only one that I look at on a regular basis, it's where I get all my new product info. I can't be bothered huntng down blogs.
