They shut Supply Linden Off, people were saying.

Might have something to do with it.

Better sell them on the market place for a rate of 265. You might have to wait a few weeks, but it gives you about 364 USD.

Disclaimer: I don't usually follow the market, so the information below is based solely on what I can currently see on the Lindex pages. :)

It sounds like you are looking at the price for a market sell. The best buy order at the moment is 276 L/$. So for your 100,000, you'll get $362.32 minus the 3.5% selling transaction fee for a total of $349.64.

If you do the market sell, you will sell quickly, but you won't get the best conversion rate. If you choose limit sell, you can set your own price, but you will have to wait longer for the sale to happen. The highest sell order rate right now is 266 L/$, so if you choose 267, yours should sell faster and should net you another $12.

Of course, these numbers may vary some, so do check the list of open buy and sell orders before choosing your price.

Regarding the current rate for a market sell (276): It doesn't actually look unusual based on the market data, which shows almost every day for the past month has had a max of 277 and a min of 266... pretty much exactly the difference between the lowest open buy order and the highest open sell order.

So to answer your question: Nothing happened. It looks like everything is completely normal.

ETA: Could you tell us what you are used to seeing when you sell this amount?

It looks quite normal to me, too. The market hasn't hiccoughed a bit, probably any impact of recent changes has been absorbed by Supply Linden printing less money.

Actually, there is a very slight pressure up. With over 44M at 265 and over 8M at 266, it is slightly higher than normal. It isn't anything that is too worrisome since there is still a strong amount of buys at 276-277. Plus the volume is about the same as it has been for a while.

What are you comparing in what time frame? if you look at the exchange rate history, it has been pretty stable the last 12 month. See (click 'all') :

I took the opportunity to sell a substantial amount of L$ on tuesday... the transaction was confirmed within an hour and was sat in my paypal account with 4 hours.... lol.. I checked Wall Street, no crash had been reported.. it maybe the new UK transaction server/company being good at what they do?

What attracted me to do this, was the strength of the pound sterling against the dollar.
