Is SL a bit sick over last few days?

Over the past few days I have been taking ages to rez.
TP to a new location and I disappear into outer space for a moment or two before arriving.
The new area then takes ages to appear in full.
Not noticed any reports on this, is it me?

Not just you. I have noticed it is wonky, but thought it came with the new viewer.

Isn't that usual intermittent behaviour from time to time ... right along with the "sitting in (0,0,0) for a few seconds before being placed in the correct location" quirk?

Sure it's a bug, but as bugs go, it's transient and rather minor, IMO.

No definately not the introduction of the latest Viewer, as I am I running the RC for a while now. The present RC is the new Viewer.
Only had these problems this week.
Thanks

Most remarkably my conclusion is that LL desires that we all remain at repose and in contemplative meditation. I, myself, have found that by sitting in one place and doing absolutely nothing, no problems arise.

I haven't had any problems, and the new viewer has been working great for me.

The Grid does seem a bit off-coulour of late. Objects take a bit longer to rez but some avatars take ages and ages. Also I get more crashes - after a long period with hardly any crashes.

Wondering therfor is the distance from Europe to the USA the problem?
Is it the Ping value on Status the thing to watch?
Used to be around 170 but now goes over 200.
If this, anything I can do?

Nail on the head,,,,,,,,,,,also no script's and only very small non detailed textures, keep attachments to a minimum .Flying can slow you down and don't TP or buy anything until we say it's safe to do so.

Sorry can't pay tier it causes too much lag.....LOL

SL is always a bit sick - that is why we are all defined as deviants.
:D

It does seem that I've been crashing more the past couple of weeks, but the grid has been up without logins being restricted -- maybe this is the price for that.

The latest viewer's been fine for me, but since last Friday I have noticed a bit of strangeness... things taking forever to rez, failed TP's, bits of buildings gone missing, etc.

I'm glad I'm not alone here. Since I updated to the new viewer it has taken additional time for things to rez. I have gone as far as clearing my cache for several days before logging off. Yesterday, I hadn't seen much improvement so I reinstalled sl. Again, not much improvement.

/shrugs oh well....just another day in the neighborhood.

when concurrent users rise so do the problems... its one thing cramming people on SL, its another thing for them to actually be able to do something.

Don't know... if I remember to do it, I'll check my ping tonight. There are likely to be a myriad of factors that could cause the problem beyond living in Europe. Anyway... I've noticed that things "seem" to load faster with this viewer. (Anecdotal evidence ftw)

Was starting to think it was the Mac viewer, now I'm not so sure. Things were ok last week when I started to use the new viewer, but since around last Friday I started getting the freezes that have been plaguing Mac users yet again! Keep having to revert back to 1.20.17 (the last reliable viewer for me) to get anything done, but didn't I hear the older viewers won't be working for much longer? This needs fixing badly now!

If your troubles seem to be with the sim and not the viewer, beware of http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-2329 , which has been torturing my home lately..

Well in my Netgear GT834GT wireless router I have the Dream Team Software/Hardware. so I have gone back to the Netgear one and this appears to have made things a lot better in cutting the Rez time down greatly.
I looked at Statistcs in the SL menu and noted Bandwidth meter was only going up to 200/300 kbps now it is bouncing up as far as the end of the meter 900/1000kbps.Thanks to all who replied.
Love

I have had several times lately when I'd be walking in a straight line and go through walls, even in my rental place which is usually very low lag. This started a few days ago, and I attributed it to some scripted jewelry pieces and my Seduction Boots having problems when worn at the same time (I don't know that could happen but I'm new here). It has been hapening more frequently lately, even without shoes. Jackie
