This is a free sound editing program to use for SL

Search for the sound editing program Audacity, its perfect for making and converting sounds for SL.:D

It can convert sound files into wave format (.wav) and set correct bit rate (44.1K), you may need to adjust the speed setting after changing the bit rate to keep it the origonal length.;)

Have fun with this free sound editing program!!;) :D

This will be both a download and and an upload

1. First you need to download the song onto your computer from the web site you found it (the system will vary from site to site), then open it with Audacity.

2. Hit save as... and use the exention .wav, you can also rename the file for easy tracking.

3. Make shure you are using the wav formated version of the song an change the bit rate to 44.1K, you will have to adjust the speed settings to get the song back to original length (its best to have a second window up with the original song for comparison), save the file after this.

4. This part is a pain, you will need to select an exactly 10 second part in the begining of the song and save selection as... (use a system like Song name with a part number), once you have this part do the same for each sucessive part.

5. If you have a beta grid viewer, bulk upload all the song parts at once, test them one at a time then in an object with a music player script. If you don't have a beta viewer you will need to run test uploads for each part individualy, if it doesn't work hit cancel.

6. If any of the parts were messed up, go back to step 4 and repeat until you song uploads correctly. Once the uploads are complete you should keep the song parts on your computer some where as a back up, you can delete the older saves if you want to.

*WARNING* Some music scripts will still have lag when playing songs, it is best to test them away from crowds until you get most of the bugs worked out, and make shure you have a reliable music script!
