I'm really hating SL right about now! Does anyone else have this problem and have any ideas for a fix?
I keep freezing up every ten minutes or so while building and it is getting worse. SL says it's not reponding. If I wait long enough it might resume, but most of the time I have to end task to get out and relog.
I have draw distance set to 64 while building and even tried mid graphic settings. It makes no difference if I am on high graphic settings and higher draw of about 200-300 or lower settings. It usually happens when I move the camera around. When I check the PC processes it shows SL is sucking up all my PF memory..up to 1.8Gb. I have no idea what to do...I've tried all sorts of SL and PC settings and nothing works.
I'm on SL version 1.19.1(4)
Here's my PC specs: AMD 6000+ 3ghz 4Gb RAM PC 6400 Video Card Nvidia EVGA 8800GTS 512Mb XP 32 bit 160Gb HD Antec 900 case (cooling is not an issue)

From: Layla Honi I'm really hating SL right about now! Does anyone else have this problem and have any ideas for a fix? I've seen this phenomenon too on a roughly equivalent box. As far as I can tell, when the spike of non-response is happening, the SL RC version of the day is page faulting like mad and is probably stuck in some loop that doesn't allow the windows main loop to run which is why you see the hourglass. Each time it happened to me, waiting an arbitrary number of minutes lets the spin-loop complete and the client then acts normally. There is no work around to this except for the client bug to be fixed or perhaps use a Nicholaz client. I think this has been reported elsewhere but the forum and JIRA tools suck too much for me to dig it up.
