Recently some Linden land next to my place was auctioned. I was interested in one of the 2 plots but I was outbid.
Several weeks after the auction the plots are still outlined in purple in 'show property lines' and show on the map as purple too. Yet the owners of both plots have been trying to sell the land - they have put signs up, but the land is marked 'not for sale' in the about land window. One of the owners has asked if I'd like to buy the land, while the other seems to be offering it for sale on the basis that you pay the money into their account first and (hope) they then 'sell' the land to you for L$ 0. All very odd!
Can anyone explain?

there was some odd latency on the sim next to mine to. Richard owned the land but it was showing up purple. I believe a sim reset fixed it. Support ticket time...

Sounds like a scam someone is pulling.
If it was outbid and someone won it they may have not had the money to pay for it and lost the land.
