Does anyone know if someone admits to tracking your online status, despite you muting them and them not being on your friends list, using one of those online trackers, will LL take action against them? We have someone doing this, and i have chat logs with them admitting they have us on tracker. We mute them and they use alts to harass

thanks

Since the trackers are not illegal, I don't see how using them would be. And NOT being on somebody's friends list is no guarantee of privacy or anything else. Muting them only means you can't hear them, not that they can't see or hear you. The only word in your question that means anything is "harass," but you give no specifics.

Are you in any groups that this other person is? The easiest way to track if someone is online or not is to pull up the group, look at the list of names and see who is online. There is no way in SL to completely make yourself invisible to another person. It's one of the things that really sucks.

LL probably won't take action against someone "using a tracker".

There is a better option for you.
They do take action against main accounts for "alt abuse".

You say that "*We* have someone doing this".
The next time this happens, have as many as possible of you submit an AR of the alt at the same time.
Label the AR with Abuse of alt for harrasment.
Name the suspected main account.
Include any transcripts that the person making the AR might have.

If the ARs get attention, LL should be able to look at the accounts involved and make any connections between them.

Cagers, orbiters, 'anti-griefing' devices, temp-rezzers, megaprims, particle generators.

None of these are illegal either.

Depending on how they are (ab)used, you can be warned, suspended or banned. If you have evidence of harassment, LL should take notice of an AR and act against the perpetrator.

Be careful because if the "chat logs" are actually copy/paste from an IM this person had with someone else then you and the other person could be reported and warned or suspended for sharing private info.

Go to PDS and get a personal security armband. You can add the names of the people that you don't want near you into it - it will alert you and send them a message to stay back. The log from this devise can be used to lodge a valid complaint about stalking.

/me ARs personal security armband wearer for sending a threatening message to stay back.

That really solves nothing since the person just keeps making new alts. Note that the OP said he mutes them each time a new one pops up. Seems it takes more time and effort to add an alt who will probably never logon again to the armband's list than it would to simply mute them.
