and Linden locks down the sim so none of us who live there can get in....how long does it take for linden to give us back our stuff? Does anyone know? My house and all my furniture are currently in lockdown, as well as a condo I built so that and all my tenants things are locked down as well. No one can get to the reigion.

Does anyone know the process of what will occur? So we can at least be forewarned? I am really furious (and thats putting it nicely!), thanks for any help.

Wow darn good question. You may want to open a ticket and see what the Lindens respose is. I honestly have no idea.

Open a ticket. I believe they will unlock it for a bit to get your stuff back.

It's not the Lindens you should be furious at but the sim owner... it is him/her that you had the contract with.

Open a support ticket, pointing out that you were renting on the sim (don't forget to include the name :)), that it has apparantly gone delinquent and ask to have it restored so you can go pick up your things.

Once a sim goes offline that is the end of it, nothing gets returned.

You do have a time limit there since there has to be a saved state of the sim to restore (past 20 days I think?), so don't wait too long with it either.

(They won't necessarily tell you they restored the sim for a short time either, so you might just have to check and keep trying)

You're a premium member ... I'd call them, typically get faster results than by ticket.

Um, your profile says "payment info used". As opposed to "payment info on file". That means you're paying for premium membership, unless I'm very badly mistaken.

Yep. It means she has a credit card on file and can buy $L's.

That doesn't mean premium. That just means payment was used at some point. Bought Lindens. Was premium for a month. Whatever payment that occurred.

I think, though do not know, that "payment info on file" is broken, and has been for a while (though I assume some profile could be pointed at to show it worked at least once though I've never seen that line).

ok so getting back to the original question :) has anyone else experienced this? I submitted a ticket and am waiting to dive in and rescue as much stuff as I can when the land comes up. I would really feel better murdering my sim owner though

I have not experienced this but have read about it happening lots of times to other people. Some of those people have posted her numerous times saying that LL did open the sim back up for a limited time so the tenants could pick up their stuff. I don't know how long they leave it open.

I had a similar situation and the owner was given a little grace period to let me get my stuff out. That was a sim closing though, it was nothing to do with non payment. Proof though that the grace period isn't an old wives tale...if that helps

If they do open it and you cant get hold of your tenants, maybe be nice and remember to return their stuff as well? If you have parcel rights to return.

Good luck!

oh I definitely plan to return as many peoples things as I can, if I can get mine and my tenants I will get as many others as possible too, not the sim owner though he can go screw.

Just to ask.. have you tried contacting the Sim owner? there may be a very innocent reason for all this...

I had the same experience as Pineapple. I was renting from someone who didn't actually own the sim, but was paying tier on it. The owner deleted his account and POOF bye-bye sim. LL gave the rental agent 20 minutes (!) to return everybody's stuff on two islands. I never did get all my stuff back, but I got most of it. Which was much better than nothing.

Oddly enough, that wouldn't seem to be a violation of the LL Terms of Service.

(Though you might run into a few RL legal problems.)

Something I learned recently is that when LL deactivates a delinquent estate owner's sim, they don't wipe out the sim, but rather just hide it from the world map for a while- although no one knows how long. Perhaps they do this in case the sim owner appears and pays her debts. Anyway, it's a very easy thing for them to do; they just unhide the sim if you ask them to.
