A friend of mine got a notecard from someone who was interested in having her rent a spot in their mall. We were talking about it, we are both fairly new to SL and I volunteered to come here and ask a few questions. First, how common is it for someone to get a request like this? Like, do some mall owners just message anyone who is selling something? Mall spam? Second, how would she be able to tell the difference between 'mall spam' and a sincere invitation from someone who has looked at her product and likes it? We tp'd over and took a look around, there is a busy and popular club there, and the stuff that is being sold in the mall is pretty nice with some name designers represented. She is thinking about it but doesn't want to start a trend of accepting every mall offer that comes her way Any thoughts or input from more experienced people would be appreciated!

You don't know the difference but checking the mall itself out and seeing who else is there is a good thing to do. Is the mall full or near full or are there lots of empty spaces? Clubs are a double edged sword because sometimes the club traffic doesn't come near the mall, whereas other times it's valid traffic.
