Rumour has it that the sound of a Jira vote is the same as that of one hand clapping.

So cynical. JIRA votes do have an effect... too much if you ask me. There's some low hanging fruit they're ignoring because it doesn't have a lot of votes.

A couple of days ago LL added a homestead region (Waxford) , filling the space between Castle Valeria and Brunskill which is one of the requests/proposed solutions in the JIRA. They also added another (Kenosaki) on the Eastern border of Ponsonby, which improves navigation between Tomasina & Ponsonby.
Pure chance ... or an active response to the JIRA ? |

*plonk* ... or whatever noise a jira makes when it is being voted on ![]() must be something else, "*PLONK*" is the sound that an avi makes when it hits the bottom of someone else's ignore list. |

They haven't done anything about Turay-Tungate, which was the original issue, but that's progress! _____________________

Oh wow. They haven't done anything about Turay-Tungate, which was the original issue, but that's progress! The Waxford sim was the most benefit for the lowest cost. It opens up protected passage between Corsica and a good stretch of the West coast of Nautilus.Up to now, passage was depemant on the whim of the owner of the NW corner of Zukovsky sim. But...... What a pity that the sea-bottom is dead flat and featureless. Other water sims added in the past few months have had interesting terrain. Underwater motorbiking is way more interesting with bumps. Multi-bike destruction derby is more challenging too. I also use my Privateer space pod as a submarine. Flat sea bottoms are so boring. _____________________

Come to think of it, in RL I wish I could go to work *with* a TP. ![]() I did that the other night, going from by toy store in Bay City - Imaginario to the house in Shermerville NW. Granted, not many get to commute by blimp. Sure was fun, though! _____________________

One person, Anu Daviau, has made the trip, from the USS Sims and the Blake Sea, to Corsica via the eastern coast of Nautilus. It was extremely difficult. It can be done, but it will take a lot of patience. She blogged about it, but it's in German. Maps included:

I wish they'd add all the necessary water sims to connect the three supercontinents.
Or implement the "virtual water sim" idea I put on the old suggestion board: instead of bouncing off the void, the Lindens would have something like a pool of extremely lightweight sims that would only be maintained while avatars were in them or in adjacent sims. so that you could boat or fly anywhere from any continent. They wouldn't support any prims other than ones attached to avatars or that avatars were sitting on. These sims wouldn't be allowed adjacent to private estates unless the estate owner approved them, of course. _____________________

Thanks for the tip, Cristalle. How convenient that it's even in German! ![]() Well, I'll be fighting my way through Nautilus. We'll see. |
