I have several T-Shirts in my inventory that I really like except when I wear them my arms and hands change to the same color as the shirt. Makes me look like I'm wearing gloves. These shirts were freebies so I guess I can't complain. I would purchase the shirts if available, and if I knew that would fix the problem or is there a workaround? TIA subgeezer lethecus

This has been popping up on the forums pretty much daily, sounds like you are running an nVidia graphic card with a driver higher than 175.19. From: someone *IF* you have an nVidia graphic card and your driver version is higher than 175.19, then there are 3 possible solutions you can try: 1) Turn off "palletized textures" (Ctrl-Alt-F7), and then rebake (Ctrl-Alt-R). SL won't remember the setting so you will need to do it each login. 2) Install the SL Release Candidate viewer 1.22, in which the problem is supposedly fixed (you can install it in a separate folder so that you can switch back if you don't like it). 3) Uninstall your driver and install 175.19 driver. Note, there is also the possibility that those particular clothing items are corrupted.

Thank you Malia for your prompt and accurate answer. 1.22 took care of the problem. Is it OK now for me to uninstall my original second life software without loosing any inventory or settings? Also I have heard the term rebake mentioned before in SL if you have a moment could you explain what that means. Many thanks

From: subgeezer Lethecus Thank you Malia for your prompt and accurate answer. 1.22 took care of the problem. Also I have heard the term rebake mentioned before in SL if you have a moment could you explain what that means. Many thanks I wouldn't bother uninstalling the original SL because once 1.22 is promoted to the released version (Real Soon Now--seriously), it will just install over that 1.21, and then something from 1.23 will become the "Test Viewer" release candidate. "Rebake" is from Advanced / Character / Rebake Textures (Control-Alt-R). It's a slightly weaker version of going into Edit / Appearance (which also does the whole spin-around animation, etc.). What it's doing is forcing your viewer to paint all the skin and clothing layers in combination on the avatar mesh ("baking" , and then shipping that newly-baked set of combined textures out to every viewer that can see your avatar.
