do you guys know of some company or somthing that offers free "hosting" (free land for people with an free account with them) in the main grid? (you know, like how there are tons of companies out there that offer free web-hosting where people can host and manage their own websites and stuff)

I think you're out of luck for this one, where a company can effectively offer free web hosting when they are the actual host (mean they can try to reduce their expenses/profit margin or have hosting expenses close to nil)
It is not really possible in SL due to the fact land use fee doesn't get cheaper once you go at the sim level.
Unless you find someone really altruistic that is actually willing to fork the money for you.

not even ad based stuff? (like the condition for being given a parcel being keeping a big billboard visible that would send landmarks to people that click on it or somthing )

Advertising in SL (especially in "residential" areas) is a losing proposition..........people tend to snub both the land owner and the "tennant". But, if you want to try to find someone you are probably limited to Mainland only. |
