Uploading Photos.

Can anyone help me with this issue please.

When i upload a photo. It turns in to a texture and i also can't use it or give it to anyone.

What am i doing wrong?

you can send the texture to anyone, just as if it was a snapshot. if you want them to do anything with it, you can select the permissions in the inventory window

don't understand why you say you can't use it though?

Like when i try and drag it on to something a red circle comes up?

How do i set the permissions?

Sorry no idea why this would happen. If someone sent it to you though, it most likely as to do with permissions for usage set.

I know strange..But these i am trying to use are stuff that i have uploaded myself.

P's how do you set permissions?

Sorry I'm not in world, it's on the tip of my tongue, but I don't want to give you half assed info LOL

I believe its like any other item. Just Edit and the permissions are near the bottom. Is the object your trying to add the texture to yours? Try rezzing a cube and adding your texture to that.

When you upload a photo.....A. it will show up as a texture....that's how the system translates things we upload.
B. You have to right click on it in inventory....go to properties and make sure that you
check the permissions boxes. When an image is uploaded....it doe NOT automatically upload with full permissions. You can't drag into an object if the texture doesn't have permissions.....and you can't edit the object itself if it doesn't have modify permissions.

But.....any image that you upload from your hard drive....is 'yours' and you can set permissions any way you choose. So, if you are giving it to people to show them.....be sure you're aware of the permissions....do you want them to be able to copy it and transfer it or not? Just something to consider, that's all.

I still get the red boxes when i try to put em on something? And even with the permissions set other ppl can't use em either?
