Land Donation Penalties?

I have no idea how I managed this, but I have myself involved in a land donation situation. It is group owned land between one other and myself. If I remove this donation, are there any penalties to myself or the other person?

Thanks

To yourself, no, except for the scorn of the other person involved. To him/her, that person will have to get other donations within 24 hours or pay tier fee and then later risk losing the land entirely if no additional donation can be found.

Alas, I am still lost. Is there a place that FULLY explains the whole donation thing? I have been trying to find something and no luck. The land that belongs to the other person is 2080 sq. m. 563sq. m. is the portion I donated. So is what you are saying is he would lose the full 2080 if I remove my donation? Or the 563? And how do I know where my 563 is? The 2080 is a rental property, which he is renting. Sorry for running on, I am not really sure how to explain myself. =/

563m2 is the standard 512m2 donation including the 10% group bonus. You have probably just donated tier to the group, the 512m2 that comes free with your Premium membership. If you stop donating that, you are then free to acquire land for yourself, while your group will lose its land unless the other member decides to donate a further 512m2 in tier.

It is possible the group has more than enough tier for the land it owns; right-click yourself, then click "groups," and check out the group's tier and actual land owned.

I am being charged 8.00 monthly for this. Where does that money go to? The other person in the group is my fiance and he doesn't care about the cost he incurs for any of the ownership. I just don't understand the charges I am paying really.

You are paying for owning up to 1536m2 of land (your free 512, plus 8USD for up to 1024).

Apologies, I just noticed Premium membership was stated. I am still on basic.

You cannot own land on mainland sims if you are basic. You can own private island land if you are basic. LL should not be charging you anything. As a basic account, you have no tier to contribute.

Yep, I am even further confused at this point. The land area is 2080 and the total contribution is 619 with land in use being 0. The land available is 619 and my contribution is 563 with a 2048 max. I just really want to know if I really need to continue paying for this since it's really not an issue in the relationship I have with the other person.

You are being billed as if you were premium. And with a donation greater than 512m2, that would put you in the 1024 tier. But as far as I knew, basic accounts didn't have tier. You need to call billing.

If indeed you have a basic account, you can NOT contribute land towards anything. You should verify if you have a basic acct. If you are, and are been charged $8 by LL, there's something wrong and should absolutely call Billing.
BTW, you haven't said whether the so called group land is on the mainland or in a private island. This DOES make a difference. Who are you paying $8 to? LL or a private AV?

It's not mainland it's a private I believe. I have to speak with my fiance because I don't think he even knows about the donation on my part ha

Who are you paying? If it's LL, then you need to call billing because basic accounts do not have tier to contribute. If it's another avatar, that's something you have to settle on your own with your partner.

You are at the 1536 tier level. You have donated 563 to this group. If you have no other land or donations to another you will be charged $5 extra. Tier donated is considered used, even if there is no land in the group. You should be able to remove this tier from this group without issue. Since there is no land in use by this group, take it out. After your next bill, your amount owed should go down.
