I am losing soooo many linden dollars lately, and its getting worse.
I purchase clothes, shoes, etc, and yet, when I put them on, the upper or lower body goes a solid colour texture. The latest is some boots in 3 parts. As soon as I attach the base - I get the same brown texture all the way up like a massive pair of woollen stockings. I usually have the most trouble with Jacket layers. It can even turn my face the same texture as the item.
I have logged a ticket 2 months ago - and re-submitted it after 4 weeks, however I guess I am not going to get an answer as I am only a freebie account holder.
I have re-baked, and done the appearance thing.
I have cleared my Cache, re-logged to a different region.
Anything else I can do, as Linden Labs yet again fails to answer a question?

Sounds like the old nVidia drivers issue from a while back. There was a spate of these when people were upgrading their nVidia drivers. If you had recently upgraded your drivers before you had this trouble, I suggest you roll them back. I'm running the drivers version 175.xx. Any number higher than 175 is problematic, and this is the typical symptom. If you can't roll it back, you should be able to go to nVidia's web site and DL the older ones. I'm pretty sure it's 175.19.

What viewer are you using? What video card, driver and version of Windows?

I'm not sure about the graphics card - will check that out with the PC owner.
All I can tell you is that I am using the Nicholaz Bleeding Edge Viewer, and running it on Windows Vista.
All this was fine, until in December 08, when I had horrendous problems, that meant SL could barely run. Lag, crashes, slow rezzing, chat lag, etc. Nothing as far as we knew had changed on the PC or with its settings (Its my brother's PC and he hadn't changed anything, and I'm the only other one to use it), and about then, was when this problem started occurring for me - but it was not so often. So Bro updated the drivers as suggested by Linden Labs, as a solution to all the other issues - and suggested Database issues as the reason behind the clothing.
Nothing performance wise, improved until a few months later - but this current issue is now getting worse and worse.
Thanks for your replies so far.

I have no idea what is or isn't in the Nicholaz viewers, but I recall that on the regular viewer, one could work around a seemingly identical nVidia driver glitch by disabling Palletized Textures from Advanced / Rendering / Features. Then a subsequent viewer upgrade just made that whole problem go away (I think by stopping the use of Palletized Textures--whatever they were).
