Remove lag-causing items, for sure. Fiddle with preferences. What else? Does the AV's physique matter? Would very long legs help? Hip structure? I have experimented but I can't really tell.

Hi Stormy! No your shape does not change your speed really! On the flat ground an avatar runs approximately 5.13 meters a second. There is a readout in SL in Advanced,HUD info, velocity so you can measure. If you like to go fast the Light Speed HUD is in James Benedek's freebie box. It pushes you with physics. The box is at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hazzard%20County%20South/97/138/26

Become very, very frightened.
Alternatively, there are a number of attachment products such as those mentioned above that push you along. I have a Conover attachment that not only flies me high and fast, but also allows me to run so fast I go through solid prims. _____________________

You can set the "Always Run" option on. You can also buy a run animation and use that in an AO to replace the default walk. This gives the illusion of going faster - but the actual ground covered is the same.
Conversely, if you want to go slow, then close the chat window and hold down the space bar as you walk. _____________________

Lots and lots of caffeine or speed.

Stormy was actually asking for me, her g/f. (She would only run to a shoe sale. Just kidding.) I would like a little edge in sword combat.
At the lowest setting (1%), the Light Speed HUD adds about 1 meter per second, which still looks reasonable for RP. The next higher setting (5%) is way too fast. While I like to win, I worry that this is like using steroids. Not sure if it is legal or fair. I would certainly go with this freebie for a speed enhancer. The other products cost Lindens and I don't see reviews for them. This one does the job for me, and more. |
