Recently I had what I thought might be a stalker...only becuz I'd seen the individual at several different locations I went to during the same day ..and secondly becuz I saw no name above their head. I thought this wasn't possible. :/ ?? I only thought we could remove the name from our own screen.
Am I just seeing things.. (or not in this case )..thx

I've seen it too, once in a while, entirely at random. Each time I asked the person how they disappeared their name tag, and each time they said they had no idea.
If abyone finds out, I'd like to know too.

I've seen this too and although i know that there are people with alll kinds of neat tricks and such that _may_ make this seem possible, in most cases it was just the angle at which I was looking at them or the distance, as in they were actually further away than I thought.

I thought there was a prim that could be worn with a transparency on it to hide names..I am probably completely wrong but I saw someone wearing one once that covered their entire AV, including their name.

I have seen that myself, quite a few times. When I asked the people how they did it, most replied with.." I can see my tag" *shrugs* Like someone above me said..maybe it is just distance or camera angle...
Now if I could just figure out why random people have ( MUTED ) next to thier names, I will be a happy camper... these are people I have never spoken to and are NOT on my mute list, yet I see it next to thier names... lol

It's a trick using an animated pose  You can still see them on the mini map of course and in fact the spot that shows up on the mini map is the spot that you can find their nametag at  But yeah it's a common greifer tactic to try to prevent an AR. |

I see this fairly frequently but have to say never on anyone I found griefing. I invariably IM them and they are quite unaware of the missing name.
