Where Can I Find Ice Skating Clothing?

I found a beautiful sim for ice skating (don't remember it off-hand, I'm not at the computer SL is on), but alas, have not been able to find clothing/skates yet.

Does anyone know of a store where I can find some cute warm and furry coats, hand muffs (remember those from childhood?), skates, hats with pom-poms, skirts and tights? I don't want to look like a professional ice skater tho, not looking for anything latex and shiny. I guess I could find these in some children's store, but I also do not want to appear like a child. Definately NOT the look I'm after.

Thanks!

Hi Elora

Try looking on SL Exchange - Deira Llanfair, Lexi Morgan, Stellina Orbit, Dismay Wilde all have outfits like that you describe. No muffs though... :)

Thank you, to both :-)
Can't wait to go shopping! Winter is coming! (of course, it's "always" winter somewhere in SL).

I do skating animations - I'm afraid I don't do clothes. There is a lovely Ice Rink in the Scotland SIM and I have a Roller Skating Rink at Llanimations in Alcis - you can ice skate on it if you prefer though. :)

Thanks for letting me know about the ice skating sim in Scotland Deira. I'm not a fan of roller skating, but love to ice skate, and I have not gotten around to visting the Scotland sim yet - it's a place I'm dying to visit in RL :-) so I really appreciate that tip!

You could try Prim and Proper - http://slurl.com/secondlife/Shengri%20La/231/49/36

they also have some ice skates.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I like Skoopf ice skates. Go to Inspire beach. They have an ice-rink there where you can buy the skates and then try them out.
Then nip upstairs to the planetarium. It's brilliant! The whole place is brilliant

While I would *love* to find 'em for a child avatar.

Take heart, too, Elora. In about two months, you will find ice skating all over the place. :-)

Shameless plug - my wife makes & sells Fantastic skating outfits. Search for "Skate and Date", and check the vendor wall. And they're dirt cheap too, L$150 or less (mostly less).

Have you asked any of the ice-skate creators to downsize their existing skates?
I'm sure someone woiuld be more than willing to do it for you.

Happy ice-skating.

I guess I can relate, only becase my Av is on the tiny side even tho I'm an adult. That's what my issue is. A lot of people I'm running into have actually asked me if I'm one (adult). I think it very obvious when you look at me, my body/face structure is most definately not a child. But, some of the clothing I've tried on does look somewhat oversized for me, that's why I thought that finding these things in one of the children's stores might be easier.

I hope you can find something too Marianne. Perhaps that idea of having skates downsized will work for both of us :-)

Elora, on the clothing front if you were interested maybe in a pullover I can't recommend strongly enough a lovely pullover shop in Meeting Support. It's near some Alpine Centre and is run by a lovely lady Marianna I think I got the name right!

The collars of some are modifiable for shaping, sizing, moving :)

Scotland is lovely (both in RL and SLand so is Wales too!) - you can go skiing as well a skating. You will find that artistic roller skating uses very much the same elements and dances as ice figure skating - and speed skating and hockey are the same for both. I am working on some skating dance animations atm - hopefully for couples to dance if the technical probs can be fixed - so I'm looking forward to a super winter sports season. C U all on the ice :)

Haven't had to: I've jes downsized the Moopf skates (the skates themselves are mod: the scripts inside are not). Did it with all the special editions last year, too. But finding outfits beyond skates? A bit more difficult.

Ya, I've heard dat from many adult avvies, too. But before dis becomes another thread on *dat* topic, I may indeed ask some of the kid clothing makers abut someting for skating. It would seem like it'd be up Kick The Can's or Bunny Creek's Alley.
