Wind? What wind?

If I am correct (and please someone correct me if I am wrong) default there is no sound of wind (only when flying around I can recall sounds that may be called wind).

So if you have on your land wind-sounds, I think something must cause it... find it and mute it :P

I just heard enough voices... little or not.

Two avatars in SL where complaining about anything and anyone in SL.. and how unfair they where treated... and how SL showed how disgustable most SL residents are... and all bitches and bitching around.... and so on and so on

It must have been that the pose-ball I was sitting on was called "Pondering", because I really started to ponder who was worse... the people they complained about or themselves...

At last I TP-ed out in deep terror...

I've heard it too, but i usually have my sound down low so it doesnt distract me,

one noise i have been hearing, is almost like a dogs squeaky toy every so often, and it seems to happen all over the grid, not just in the one place... im beginning to wonder if i have a squeaky toy wedged in my high heels

In all fairness is this not all part of the virtual world we project ourselves into?

Within SL I have owned land that was high enough to have constant mist, and have experienced wind noise within mountain areas.

In WoW it rains, snows, has sand storms, and the plague areas have constant mist. And in the Outlands (first visit) I have seen lightning and other weather effects.

As far as I am concerned it all adds to the realism -:)

Funny, I did spend 1500L$ (or something like that) to have rain, snow, fog and thunder on my land.... :P

Outlands is pretty dull weather wise outside of Zangramarsh (where it's almost always raining)

I turned off all ambient sounds- I can't stand the wind noise.

Gregg, you can adjust the volume levels of different things including IIRC the wind in your preferences settings.

That is the Slime Drone Follower that got released in the old days as a freebie and newbies think its funny to rez them around the grid.

Look for a very small lime green halfsphere with big google eyes.

I ARd the one near the classrooms and I think LL eventually got rid of it. As well, the original creator sent me a notecard explaining how it got away in the first place! If you find it you can mute it and it will probably mute all instances..but I'm not sure. Anybody know if you mute an object by name if it mutes all instances of it?

Clicking on ther audio volume icon on the bottom of your screen gives you choices of things to adjust. Wind is now in "ambient."
