I've been quite out of the loop on plans for the viewer UI for months, but back around June-ish there was a whole big deal, lead by a company called Vectorform, to gussy-up Landmarks in the UI and hang extra features on them, with the intent of making a more "browser-like" experience of navigating Teh 3D Interwebz. Or something like that. It was to have a "back" button, anyway, I remember that much. :p

So, now I go to the jira to look at the NAV project where all that stuff was being organized and... no such project?

Does anybody know the history behind this?

I recall the stuff on this project as well. It usually takes about, oh, a year for anything to make it into the viewer, though, and I know viewer stuff has been on a bit of a back burner in favor of the mono rollout.
