After my post about a new vagina recently...there were quite a few responses stating i should check out the Firebrand Venus model, because of SL not allowing transactions & tp's id given up on trying to window shop...sooo...early hours of this morinng i duly trotted off to the store and bought the above mentioned model. Was really pleased with it...BINGO! Just how everyone had said, looks great, easy to fit& edit..even has a fool button- where you can restore the *as sold* settings, very handy. So i went off to work with a big smile and a happy heart Popped online lunchtime only to see that the company ( thankyou Winter Ventura!) had contacted me and had offered me a gift card to go get my poor alt some new bits!! Wow...how fab...but i was honest and contacted Winter to say *thanks but I already bought one etc*...i sent the gift card back as she was advising me of a few additional tips about my new parts...BUT...she sent the gift card right back! Said to pass it on to a needy friend....how F.A.B! I tihnk this is the nicest & best bit of customer service Ive ever recevied in over a year here...a company who obviously is well thought of and pretty succesfull...bothering with the small guy... So...question is....whats the best customer service you received from a retailer in SL???

Most recent one:
I had a L$5k gift certificate for a certain store that I filled out and returned, but after several weeks I still hadn't received anything.
I dropped a notecard asking if they were running behind on filling gift cards and it turned out that my gift certificate never made it to the store owner's inventory.
She filled the gift card anyway.

I've told the skin story 87 times, so I'll mention one from earlier in my SLife. I stumbled across Simply Spoiled one day in my wanderings and immediately purchased several pieces of jewelry, then went merrily on my way. Maybe half an hour later, one of the owners sent me several MORE pieces out of the blue and IM'd me with a nice message. I also happened to be there a few months later when she passed out really lovely snowflake necklaces to everyone in the store.

I accidentally bought double of the same item (and same colour) from a vendor in Sioxie Legend's store (Second Wave Apparel)... I checked to see if it was trans, because if it was then I could just give it away. But it wasn't, so since I couldn't give it away and couldn't use it myself, I thought I'd let her know about the double buy and ask if I could have a different colour instead.
She was so nice! She said the item is supposed to be trans and that SL must have messed up the permissions... yet she not only gave me the colour I asked for, she also gave me the same item in a third colour as well! I will always remember that.

So cool when folks take care of your needs so well I second Pillow Talk and will also mention Alyssa Bijoux - great service on both. Similar stories- stuff bought and not received. They both, Sandy and Alyssa, took care of re-deliveries right away

I wish I could remember the designer's name right now because she is well known - but one of my alts had this fabulous leopard bikini that wasn't available any longer in the store. I sent her an IM asking if she still had it someplace. She told me she would make it for me special if I wanted it and to send her a picture of my Alt wearing it to jog her memory. Now how nice is that? Turns out, she decided to just add it back into the store because once she saw the picture she liked it so much, she figured it was a "keeper"

Fallinwater form Shiny Things refunded a pair of no-transfer pumps I bought as a gift. She did not even make fun of my below average IQ... she is so much more than just a great designer.

Very recently I went to the Nora skin store after a friend recommended the place. I picked up a demo pack, tried a few on, liked one, then went back to buy the proper version and it was old stock and no longer for sale. So I IM'd the owner and she sent it to me for free. Yes free! She said thanks for pointing out that it was still in the demo pack Of course I've told everyone how fab she is and had loads of great comments on my new skin too, so hopefully I've sent loads of customers her way. Great customer service!

Given the fact that SL is designed to favor dishonest merchants and punish honest merchants, any time I receive customer service from a merchant, I'm impressed.
I forget whether I'm allowed to name names in these forums or not, and whether it makes a difference that I'm saying something good about someone, or something bad.
After buying a no-copy outfit with a prim skirt from Indyra originals, and completely ruining it when trying to adjust it to fit me, I asked the merchant if I could exchange my ruined prim skirt for a new one. When she responded to me, she asked me if I'd rather have a no-transfer (but copyable) version of the skirt instead, to help me with modification. That made me happy, since with prim clothing I invariably must modify, I'd prefer to be able to copy.
I've lost money several times to SL transaction errors in SL over the past month. In each case, the merchant refunded my money upon request without problem, just requiring the transaction numbers. One was online at the time of the problem and refunded it right away, the other got back to me within 24 hours. These were at Pure Chaos Designs Shoppe and Jana's Classic Designs.
While it may seem like an expected thing that a merchant would refund money in such a case, the fact of the matter is that if they didn't take the time to do that, there's nothing I could have done about it. (Except complain to no avail.) So I remember things like that.
I've had a good experience with honest clothing merchants. It's the land estate owners who have ripped me off big time in SL.

I have to say that I am very heartened to hear these stories.
I got really upset when I first started my SL wanderings at how most businesses seemed so faceless. When I got a chance to work for someone and help them with my business, I was determined to try to set things up to do things differently, to try to give the customer a good feeling about buying stuff. It only takes a few minutes and doesn't cost you anything.
I don't care whether they will ever come back or not - I just don't think buying in SL should be cold or faceless.
And it's not just problem resolution or freebies, either - I'd just like to know that there is someone that I can ask simple questions about what they are selling.
SL should be fun for everyone, as far as I am concerned. Maybe the number of people that think similarly is increasing.

Yu just reminded me...i borked a fav pair of boots a while ago..and the store Topaz square...tp'd me over..didnt even laugh at HOW MUCH id borked them and gave me a new pair no worries.... Its really nice to hear so many positive stories )))

Recently I visited The Pottery Loft looking for more of a particular candle I had purchased about 2 years ago created by the owner. I wanted to use these cute little candles for my cafe tables in my coffee shop. When I didn't see the candle anywhere, I IM'd the owner to ask if there was somewhere else I could get it. She told me that one had been discontinued some time ago, but to drop her a pic and she would see if she could dig it up. Well, she found it and asked how many I wanted. She made them and was going to give them to me for free I really wanted to pay because of her kindness so she charged me a measly 50L. I have lots of stories like that...this is just the most recent. I have had great luck with merchants in SL.

I’ve never had poor customer service despite failed transaction, multiple purchases of the same item and totally screwing up things I should have never even tried to edit. I think a lot of it has to do with the way you approach the vender. Be courteous and patient be rewarded. Be shitty and impatient be disappointed. Actually one of my best customer service experiences was with Linden Lab. It was my first encounter with an advertisement floating above my newly purchase 512m of mainland property. I called LL customer service and while trying to explain my problem the lady (and I wish I would have remembered her name) stated that she was there now. I fired up Second Life and sure enough there was a Linden floating above my parcel…while I had her on the phone . Obviously there was nothing she could do because the add was anchored squarely on the 16m parcel next to mine, but she did suggest I contact the owner of the add to see if there was any way I could get him to move it. So I sent the owner of the add an IM politely asking if there was some way so that he could advertise with out using such a big floating sign (naive yes). The next day I signed on to find that floating add gone and a small sandwich board add sitting on the ground instead. Sadly I think those days of that kind of cooperation and respect are gone.

really they have all been really great with me.. the products i buy from the designers are because i love the designers work..i explain to them just how much a product means to me of theirs and that i buy only things that give me the feeling i must have that..
i express to them how their work makes me feel but also that there was a problem with a transaction i had and if they could be so kind as to im me when they have the time.. most of them i really end up having a long conversation with because we get along and i think they also like to know that their products are appreciated.. a lot actually end up letting me see up and coming lines they are about to release..
i really can't think of any bad customer service i have came a crossed yet.. i've met some really great people in bad transactions actually ..so i guess they were really not bad transactions after all lol

Never had problems with any costumer service, don't know if it's because most of the designers are on my friends list or because I almost had no problem at all... I remember to use some of post-sale services from MMS, JCS, Muism, SF Design, PE, Indigo (just to name a few) and everything went smooth ... even with pre-sales services I don't have complaint (kudos to my friend Maddox Dupont, thanks for all that help with Ana )
