I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum. But I have my first land and I had a newbie home on it. Now I can afford to actually put a pretty house the way I want on it. What I'm looking for is something a bit rustic. Like a log cabin/cottage. I've been searching and the one's I find seem to be lacking detail, or not very good looking, or even worse, much too large. Anyone have any recommendations on who sells nice log cabins?

Sarah Nerd makes a nice one too and she would probably give you a free copy.

A simple log cabin should be pretty easy to build, and I know there are lots of freeby cabins out there. How much have you looked?

Wallace McAllister of Bliss Tattoos sells a GREAT thatched roof cottage with locking doors, shutters that open and close, and a fire in the fireplace that responds to the time of day, all for 150L.

All good suggestions.

How about, "Build One", my young pixelated pioneer?

I can build you a custom one for free if you like. Might be better than some random freebie (No guarantees, some people make amazing things and give them away). I have to warn you, if you actually want individual logs, you'll be hard pressed for furniture.

Log texturing though looks not bad, and doesn't use tons of prims (I made a log cabin in my very early building days, that thing has 145 prims in it, and its tiny... but it's kinda detailed in that it has logs and crosspieces where they would connect and such, as well as a slanted log roof.)

Either way, if you can't find something nice on your own that you can afford or something, feel free to send me an IM. And you can view a little bit of my work on my land.. SLurl is on this site::

Thank you thank you thank you for all your suggestions! I will try building, just haven't gotten around to that yet. But it's on my list of things to try! Jessyanne came by and put a few cabins for me to look at and she gave me one I fell in love with. Thanks so much!

Try building your own cabin. At first it will look like a plywood shed. You wouldn't want to make it up out of individual logs and the prim allowance for your land wouldn't let you do that anyway. But in the 'library' section of your inventory there should be various wood textures including planking that could be applied to the sections. There is a shingles texture you can use for the roof. There are also lots of freebie textures around, and I'm sure I've seen ones that look like log walls.
