Good and cheap?
Go to "bare rose" island. just search in in the map.
They have good AO's for several occasions, and also very cheap.

I got a full AO with hud and replaces every stance you can have, it costed 150 Linden Dollars. A lot is about 150 over there, no matter what you pick.

If you're up for populating animations into the AO yourself, and editing a notecard to tell the AO script what to do with them, I'd strongly recommend using an AO based on the free open-source ZHAO-II (or -2, or whatever it's called). It's available in many places, but I think it "originates" at Material Squirrel.
I would never consider wearing an AO without being able to see the source. It's just way too easy for a scripter to do very laggy things in an AO, and having seen inside a few not of the ZHAO / Franimation lineage, well... let's just say, those scripters would have been a lot better off suggesting contributions to the existing open source code, rather than trying to roll their own.

Search for Sylva's inworld. (It is Sylva's not Sylvia's)
She has 2 free AO's, one for male and one for female. Many animated stands. You can take out the stands you don't like.

Another good free AO that will tide you over for now (and is editable so you can add more animations as you get them) is available at E. Watkins Premier Equestrian Supplies (I know, hell of a name!) in Nishi Azabu. You need to go to the very top of the stairs in the store, and the AO is in a flashing prim on the wall in front of you. It was there a couple of days ago, so it should still be there now: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Nishi%20Azabu/8/22/35/ETA: There are two packs of free flight and stand animations (five anims in each pack) from ANIMAH that are available at the Fabulously Free store, in Talisman. You can put those into the E. Watkins AO for a bit more variety: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Talisman/229/191/24

Ziggy Puff wrote it; you should be able to find it via his profile. For best results, drop scripts in an object and recompile wihth the Mono checkbox fixed -- and be prepared that the % free memory won't work quite right. (There's a trivial fix to that as well.)

Cova has some excellent sits and stances for bargain prices. Starting at L$10 and up to L$50 compared to the L$100-200 most of these same kind of poses sell for elsewhere.
They're good quality, too, not cheapy in look. I ended up buying a half-dozen or so (that I didnt' really need) because I liked them so much and the price was unbeatable.
