I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum but I can't find this information anywhere.
My problem is this:
I need to buy Linden. Lol. But when I go to place the order on the SecondLife site it says "Could not charge account"
The thing that I don't get is that before that it didn't ask me for my credit card information..So then I was looking at my account settings and there is a place there where you can update your "Billing Information". I have no billing information filled out yet.
Is this my problem? I'm assuming I need to fill that out before I try and buy Linden?
The only thing I am worried about is if I do this maybe this billing information sheet is only for people who want an updated account that they have to pay monthly for. Which is really not what I want. Do not want to be charged monthly for anything.
I just want to purchase Linden..
So, can someone please tell me what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance.

You need to have something for LL to charge the Linden purchase to, either a credit card or Paypal account. You won't be charged a monthly fee of any sort unless you change your membership plan. Enter whatever method you wish to use for your purchases in the appropriate area. Also, be aware that you will be limited in how many Lindens you can buy in the beginning.

Are you trying to make the purchase through the Web Site or Inworld?

I had sort of the same problem early on. Both of my banks would not allow purchases from LL, so I had to set it up through PayPal. It's been so long I don't remember the exact error message but it sounds like it's your bank's anti-fraud thing (I think), and not anything you're doing.

From: Ariianna Destiny http://img134.imageshack.us/my.php?image=erroreq1.jpg Thanks for your help. I took your advice and went ahead and entered my credit card information. But it still says the same thing.. ^Thats what is says... Is this a site thing or my credit card? Have you made sure update isn't still pending? I made an alt who got stuck so long with that, filed a ticket, they verified my card and then I had to reenter the card and it was good to go right away. Also there is that time limit for purchases.. I thought it was based on account "age" but it seems it is based on when payment info was added. ""Days" in the New Resident limits description refers to days since first billing transaction with Linden Lab." ( https://secure-web22.secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.php) That may be your problem?

From: Darion Rasmuson it seems it is based on when payment info was added It's based on the first time the payment info is USED, not when it's added.

Thanks so much for your replies, I tried it today and it worked.. I think it was because the billing information update was still pending. Thanks!
