Is there anyway to manage who is allowed to use my land for building? I know I can allow everybody or nobody. But what if I want to disallow everything, but allow a select few people to use my land for building. Can I do this?
Also, can I allow certain people to set my place as their home location?

Set land to group

Form a group - set land to group then allow group build. Just be sure to watch the rights you set to your group members. Check out the forums for group setup information. I have done this on several parcels and it works great. I dont deed to group - simply set the land to the group. Good luck.

FYI - the group role settings have no effect at all on group SET land. They only work on deeded land.

From: Arcane Blaisdale ...Also, can I allow certain people to set my place as their home location? Again, group ownership is the key to success. Otherwise, your choices are to allow only you to set your Home location there, or to allow everyone to do so. Forming a group is easy. First, create an alt if you don't already have one. Then create a group, pay the L$100 fee, and invite your alt to the new group. Log in as your alt and accept the invitation. Congratulations! You are now a group of two. Then deed your land to the group and donate sufficient tier to cover. Create a new group role, call it, say, "Arcane's Buddies". Make sure the permissions for that role are limited to what you want to allow your friends to do...set Home, rez objects, receive notices, at a minimum. Maybe Eject/Ban. Then invite anyone you like to join your group.

Thanks for the replies! Looks like I'll be setting up a group What does it mean to "deed your land to the group and donate sufficient tier" I'll still own the deed correct? I understand the tiers for land ownership, but what does it mean to donate tier to the group? Thanks for all your help!

Read the sticky about transferring land. Also, there's a good in world group to answer your questions, "SL Land Answers Unlimited". When you deed land to a group, the group owns it, not you personally. If the group sells the land, the proceeds will be divided among the group members who have "receive group dividends/share group liabilities" checked in their group role. Also, a group gets a 10% break on tier fees...so your group can own up to 10% more land than an individual, at any given tier level.
