Is anyone else having a problem with muted objects? My neighbors have a waterfall that drives me insane. Its been muted for months and now I can hear it again, although it still says its muted. I've clicked around and muted just about every prim on their parcel trying to track down if it was a new sound or something. Any suggestions?

it's a pain in the butt, my neghbor used to have a wind chime and it took me ages to mute it, what you have to do is go into edit linked parts mode and find the linked prim that has the sounds in it and mute that prim (sometimes there may be several). looking into the contents tab in the edit window will tell you if that prim has any sounds in it.

hope that helps

So your final Nimbus Score is 8.15, a quite remarkable achievement for a biped. Congratulations Crunch, you should be very proud. :-)

I went through and did that to every piece of the waterfall and I can still hear it. I don't think the owner came and put down any new sounds, she hasn't been online in weeks.

Isn't there something in About Land that has to do with the sound on your parcel, setting the range of sound? Am I wrong or mixing this up with something else? I was thinking your neighbor might not have know how to restrict her sound to within the borders of her land. Somebody will know the specific answer, hey somebody!

If you haven't already done it try enabling beacons for sounds, the prims producing the sound will show a yellow cube outline inside them whenever the sound is made.

Also enable your view of transparencies. Some objects put the sound in an invisiprim.

I did highlight transparency and checked everything to no avail....I will try the beacons this evening and see what I can come up with. The land owner hasn't been online in weeks and the land is for sale....cut up horribly with a few 16m's owned by others mixed in. The land the water is on is 352m for sale for 5k....I have 450m tier available but have resisted buying it because of the inflated price, which isn't much but still ticks me off. Plus I have a feeling the main owner and 16m owners are in cahoots just waiting for someone to buy it so they can construct spinning ad towers.

Don't know if you want to try this, and I could be wrong. But you might try banning or muting the owner of the waterfall. Not sure it still works, but at one time, banning someone also banned and muted objects, noises, and whispered chat created by the owners and their items. I used to have a neighbor with one of those anti-copybot things. I couldn't find the prim, so I banned her. It worked wonderfully at that time. But that was over a year ago.
