Is there a way, maybe a debug setting, to turn off the green radio waves in voice?

From: Lindal Kidd Is there a way, maybe a debug setting, to turn off the green radio waves in voice? I hope not. It sucks enough having to sort out who's saying what when people want to talk to me with voice. If they have the option to turn off the waves, I'll just go completely batty. I don't use voice myself, but as a business owner I need to be accomodating. And honestly, sometimes it is easier to get their explanations of what they want through voice. Please don't make it more of a pain in the ass than it already is. If anything, the listener should be the one who can opt to turn off the signals, and not the sender. (Maybe that's what you mean?)

I just want to know if it can be done. I can think of a couple of situations where the ability would be useful. (Don't worry, though...if I want to talk business with you, I'll turn them back on, I promise.)

(Maybe that's what you mean?) why not use the active speakers list, instead of looking at the avatar?

There are textures named VoiceImageLevel0 through VoiceImageLevel6.
If you replace the key for each of those with the key for a clear texture, that will make something clear, perhaps the green radio waves.
One would probably have to restart SL to see the change.
You can find these in Client Debug Settings.

Bottom right-hand side of the screen. Left of the talk button.

From: Rhaorth Antonelli why not use the active speakers list, instead of looking at the avatar? Active speakers lists the people who have activated voice but it still shows who is actually speaking with the same green waves so while it will help you find out who is speaking faster if there are several people around you with voice activated, you're still reliant on the green wave effect to know who is actually speaking among those that have activated voice.
