People tend to take it personally if they know you can read their glorious IM and yet you aren't removing your gag to reply. People like to feel special.

They'll also start sending you subtle messages that are more difficult to ignore. Like - "If you don't respond then I'm going to shoot myself."

Wow... imagine how peaceful an SL THAT would be!

Maybe the bdsm types are really onto something here... 'restrained life' sounds more like 'phone off the hook and loving it life'...

Though if I used it for a meeting or something I bet I would prolly start a lot of rumours!

I just want that part too! The ability to script and upload in peace with NO IM.

And no stupid busy mode that declines inventory, which I would like to still get.

Some may be thankful they are not into your "crap" ;) Be thankful some of us are into that "crap" Weren't you designing BDSM types of piercings recently? ;)

In most cases I bet this viewer is not used because of trust issues at all...its another extension from what I can see to try and make things as "realistic" as possible...

You don't need to be under someone's control to benefit. If you can trust the RL viewer, install it, script an object with "llOwnerSay@recvIM=n" and bask in the silence.

Ummm... there's no reason why an IM filter couldn't be added to any of the 3rd party clients. I believe that Daisy's addon to the RL client allows the user to specify any response they want ... wouldn't it be nice to not have to use busy mode and auto-decline everything?

Be even nicer to be able to specify special responses for one or two special friends ... like a REAL IM client!

While working on the IM code please add a toggle to remove the IM chat from the scrolling up the screen console chat so you can make sense of area conversation without having to use the chat history window.
