Can't rez object 'Gothic area rug' at { x,y,z } on parcel 'xxxxx' in region xxx yyy because you are not allowed on the parcel.
OK, I have NEVER seen this before today. Nothing has changed that I can see in my land settings. I belong to the group that owns the land. I have full privs including terraforming. I used to be able to rez things here without wearing my group tag. Now, something's changed and the error message makes no sense since I am, of course, allowed on the parcel. Heck, it's a public parcel.
Any thoughts?

If you look at ABOUT LAND is it SET to GROUP or DEEDED to Group? If either is the case, you will have to make that Group your ACTIVE group before you can rez objects there.

From: Blog Update 2008-06-05 06:18 PM : If land is set to group build only, you must be a member of the group *with the group activated* to rez objects on the land. If you do not have the group activated, you will get a misleading error message about not being allowed on the parcel. We are investigating and will address in a future version. What IBME said.

Please read my post again. I have always been able to rez things WITHOUT wearing my group tag in the past. This just started today. And yes, the land is SET to group (which it has always been). Note the error is not the expected one which would be "you do not have permission". It says I am "not allowed on the parcel". Which of course is bogus. There have been no change in the land settings. In fact, I was rezzing stuff yesterday without my land group tag.

Yes, that's what the blog update is saying, that in the new version that no longer works, and they are looking into it.

We read your post and this just started with the server update that was done this morning. The passage I just quoted is from here... http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/06/04/preview-grid-updated-production-deploy-rolling-restart-plans/In other words, the Lindens borked another one.

Sorry, I didn't read your post carefully enough. I'm sick today and was frustrated. I thought you were quoting IBME and didn't read the BLOG quote carefully enough.

Hmm.. this is one where I'm thinking they won't be rushing to fix it. It'll make it harder for the less imaginative griefers to rezz objects on non-Linden/Group owned land... I didn't read the blog post too carefully, so this is a nice reminder that I should do so.

A way to impede griefers but it is screw up by the Lab that does it, not an intentional fix.

From: Macphisto Angelus That would figure. A way to impede griefers but it is screw up by the Lab that does it, not an intentional fix. Especially when you consider that they broke the Always allow "Create Objects" group role ability as part of the screw up.

Vote for this one: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2489This is going to cause a lot grief for renters & landlords. Anything that rezzes poseballs (ie. naughty beds) that wasn't set to group will have to be reset or the bogus error will appear and it won't work.

This has been an issue at our sim today as well. I spoke with Leo Linden about it in Live Chat and he was only able to help us fix it by setting land permissions to allow any resident to create and enter objects. This at least allowed what needed to be rezzed to be rezzed and stopped the blue pop ups. Of course, as others have mentioned, this isn't our preference at all. As a land owner (island owner here) we should be able to use the land permissions we desire and not HAVE to set them open to everyone just because something got flubbed today. Hoping it gets resolved. I'll be going to vote on that jira.

Its still doing it for objects rezed under that group... shared with group... but I dunno if your all old enough to remember but this happened last year and the year b4... every time they do a major change to the viewer and its options they bork the object rez because of course rather then beta test it themselves... they release when its still buggy so we can beta test it...We have been paying beta testers since its inception... its an annoyance but give them a month they will fix it and a new range of issues will spawn

Yah it has a lot of stuff fuskered. I think it may have skewered some in-world vendor systems for Onrez.

Yeah, and they are going to afflict the rest of the grid with it tomorrow morning.
So much for the weekend. But, then, what's new?
