Negative Linden Dollar balance question

This is probably a dumb question but here it goes...

I have downgraded my account to Basic and cashed out my Linden dollars. Because I am only taking a break and not quitting SL I have remained in all my groups. I just noticed today that I have a negative balance in my account (due to a group liability--duh me... should have kept a little L$ inworld.)

Do I need to log in and buy more Linden dollars to cover this or will LL automatically take the necessary money to cover my debt from the Paypal account on file?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

I believe you'll need to buy L$ to pay it...LL won't use the PayPal account for anything that isn't a USD charge.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I think what happens is you got x number of days before they lock the account. So transferring money in would fix it. Then leave the group or ask to be moved to a non-liable membership.

What was the point to downgrading your account? LL doesn't refund you anything, why not just keep the account premium?

If negative balances are allowed for unverified avatars, people must be gaming it.

I know you can get a negative balance form advertising land costs, is this a way to cheat the system, by having 100 people in a group 99 are all alts or bots, and the main only pays 10% of the amount committed to advertising and the negatve balcnce on the 99 continues to grow to what point, if it ever matters? A $2000L ad would only cost $200 giving you a big leap infront of the other poor suckers paying full price.
Can you make money somehow by buying land for a group then reselling it at a huge loss too, letting the alts take the rap for it?
How about the tier shortage amnesty, can you use this with bots rotating land through multiple groups to have land without needing to pay LL for the correct amount of tier. Is this how the adfarmers and some landbarons afford to waste huge cash inworld on jacking land prices up like Bay City?

Not sure, but this one seems pretty likely to be at work; there's been a lot of speculation about this in the past, but I've never had the courage (nor means, nor inclination) to test it myself.

Yeah I suspect if many of the shiftier companies were investigated, they may find some real people owning a lot of land without paying much tier. Having watch some land for sale transfer through 4 different Real Estate Companies then back to the original, I suspect there is something to this.
And say you manage to get your alts to a negative $10k balance, isn't that a free $10k if you delete them?
