L$ transactions in a region

I am wondering if there is a way to script or look up how much L$ is spent in a particular region?

This could be very helpful for me to know which regions are needing assistance in traffic, whether to expand a commercial area, etc.

Not unless you can get everyone to agree to use a scripted vendor (Pay vs Buy) and have the reports public.

I'm not sure how useful it would be as an LL released metric either (aside from the fact that people would game it if residents used it as any kind of indicator :() since if someone pays - as a random example - a SLex ATM L$50k is that really "L$ spent" in that region?

NM your wanting it for all transactions in a sim.

Not sure if it's possible but at the traffic meetings some of us told Jeska this is a stat we'd like available.

I suggest that you submit that as a Feature Request on the PJira, http://jira.secondlife.com/ Under VWR.

This sounds like a bit of an intrusive statistic if you ask me - if there are only a few shops (or one shop!) in a region it is basically giving away someone else's financial records.

Your Region, Your Rules. I am pretty sure it doesn't breach ToS and so if there's a way to show that this Feature is Active, perhaps in the Covenant then I don't see too much of a problem with it...

I'd like it as an option. In an area where there's a mall like scenario it's a much better indicatior of business worth than traffic ever will be.

In the case of where one person is renting one parcel, I'd turn it off.

It would be a good indicator for the owner of the mall.

If you meant for use as a potential renter, the mall owner would simply artificially inflate the number to fool you into thinking the mall is more successful than it really is.

(Edited to add that Meta Linden's office hour would probably be the best place to bring it up. She deals with all the different metrics / statistics)
