How Long Does It Take..?

This is a Rant..no need to respond..unless you really really REALLY want to..

How long does it take to travel from a friend's house in Barcola to the Bowling Alley in Bay City - Handa..? (..that's less than 3 sims by the way..about 700m)


Answer 1 hour 15 minutes.


Why so long?..you probably ask....

Answer..'Because I chose to go by...

Firstly motorbike (yellow)...

attempt 1..the bike which works perfectly well everywhere else crashed into a canal

attempt 2..the bike which works perfectly well everywhere else crashed into a mall

attempt 3..the bike which works perfectly well everywhere else crashed off the bridge between Barcola and the rest of the New Bay City

attempt 4..repeat of 3

attempt 5..repeat of 4 (and indeed 3)

At this point I gave up on the motorbike and selected my Porsche 911 (yellow)

attempt 6..the car which works perfectly well everywhere else crashed into the same canal as 1

attempt 7..repeat of 6

Now let's try my Terra Claw 2 (for those of you not familiar with air travel..it's a sort of futuristic jet thingy..yes it's yellow too).

attempt 8..it crashed..on the bridge again..actually I've no idea where it (the Terra) went..hopefully my inventory..I expect LL will get back to me on that one.

attempt 9 ..a repeat of 8 though oddly when I logged out and back in again I found myself in 'Thyris' (I'm building a house there).

attempt 10..I gave up and went shopping

attempt 11..now this one's quite interesting..I changed the car to the Caterham 7 (lovely car..yellow)..got half way across the bridge (refer to 3, 4 and 5)..and for some reason just kept on going..and going..and going..and going..and going (saw the bowling alley..as it whizzed by)..and going..and going..at this point I logged out (yet) again

attempt 12..I teleported..and arrived successfully 75 mins later!!

Me thinks...LL..there's still a little work needed to be done in the Bay City area

lol Yesterday I took my first trip on the boat up said canal it was nice. I clicked to get off and ended up in the drink.I laughed to myself and tried to fly out ,zilch ,no controls stood there a while pressing everything I could think of, to no effect.I logged out ,logged back in expecting to return in my courtyard,set at home location,not so still at the bottom of the canal but at least I could fly out. Work to be done indeed,

Okay so it wasn't just me! I did the exact same things you did, in the exact same order! Crashed all over the place off of bridges and into and through walls on my sportbike, then in both of my cars, and then finally took my raceboat out in the harbor (this is all at Barcola), and was doing fine in 45 second intervals after which a force I like to call "The Grimace" took over my rudder and throttle and sent me hurtling out to sea or careening way up in the air after hitting a bridge pillar.

To the friendly and previously safe street party that was going on two nights ago about 2am SLT that was abruptly crashed by a completely out of control and fast moving carbon-fiber convertible racecar with the screaming pale chick behind the wheel, I'm soooo sorry!!! Those roads are entirely too narrow!!

Oh Good Gordon Bennett..what is it with this bridge from Barcola to the New Bay City..every time I try to cross it..no matter how I try (car, bike, plane) I get hurled into the void. The only solution is to log out then in again. I was seriously thinking about buying some property over there..not any more..!!

Hmm..to me it sounds like you've been drinking a bit too much before heading out on your excursions.. crashing into things is usually the drivers fault, Sir/Ma'am, or in rare cases the fault of another person on the road/air/waterway.

I'm going to let you off with a warning this time, but if it happens again, you're repairing everything you damage. No ifs ands or buts about it.

Try a red vehicle, everyone knows they go faster.
