I have a little shop in an area I really like - lovely landlord, low-lag, nicely designed shops.. but my stock is expanding and I'm running out of room so I'm looking for a second shop to rent (I'm not really at the stage of renting land yet).
I've trawled through the forums and search but I can't find what I'm looking for, maybe I'm being a bit fussy but this is the general idea:
- NOT a mall - A location that's easy on the eyes - A place with a bit of character - NO campers
Any suggestions? I remember a thread a while back and people suggested great places but I can't find it.
Thanks!

I offered FREE, yes I said free spots in my shop / mall to any forum members that wanted to display thier wares. So far.. 1 person displayed some items and I have one vendor. The 1 person backed out for some unknown reason.
Again I offer you can display your stuff for free at my place. Contact me inworld for locations and information.

No campers? Well...not sure you don't want ANY campers--if done right, having people camp can be beneficial to your store. Everyone wants traffic.
I suggest you check out Creeve Town.
Creeve Town is a very high quality Steampunkian society--it's super detailed, and extremely well run. It's not a mall, it's a community. The rents are extremely cheap. The people are super cool. And it's all put together by a professional game designer and artist.

I will check that place out though it sounds great! Ya. There is a huge difference between a nasty looking, desperado place setting up camping because they don't know any better...and a professionally run place that hosts camping to bring people into the community. Also, it's really cool, Creeve Town doesn't have the standard camping setting up--their camping devices are totally different...you don't have to remain stationary. You click on a scanning device, and you can walk around part of the sim, all the while collecting cash. It's very cool.

I like 'environmental campers'.. like if you're in a run down town and there's a tramp camping.. or at a romantic place and there's a violin player.. that's a nice touch.

In the past I've found nice shops to rent by searching for nice places to shop.

Etopia Shops
02-27-2008 10:57
We have two sims with residential, commercial, natural and open spaces. We have just expanded and have several storefronts available on our new sim right on the central plaza. Most of the spaces cane be combined to make a larger space either horizontally or verticallly over 3 floors. We have no camping and no bots, but good real traffic. You are likely to find people around, visiting, shopping, exploring, biking etc and any given time. We are a close community of nice people who live and work there and we are dedicated to educating folks on what a sustainable eco-village could look like, with alternate forms of transportation and energy. We also have beaches, mountains, forests, streams, waterfalls and more...it is a really lovely peaceful place.
Please feel free to check out my profile, come visit or im me in world for more info...thanks! jojo

I don't use campers to artificially inflate my traffic. The people who rent space from me know that the traffic I get is there to shop.
Anyone with enough money to blow can fill their site with campers and get high traffic, but if you have to fake traffic that way, what does that say about your product?
Good product will bring customers, not false traffic numbers based on camping. I don't see places like Stroker's Eros or Image Reflections or the other High Quality stores using camping to bring in customers. They do it by providing great product.
Just my opinion.

Just my opinion. Totally true, for the most part. However, recently--like I was mentioning--I took up vendoring in Creeve Town. Creeve is super high quality, with some amazing vendors, and professional game quality environments...yet, they use a form of camping too. The form they use is the radial camping device--where you click on it, it logs you in, and you can wander around still collecting money. I think that's very clever. My point being, this community doesn't really neeeeeed camping, but they do it any way to not just up the traffic, but to offer noobs the chance to make money as they shop the sim...I think that's OK to do.

Hmm I prefer actual customers to campbot thanks, I see no sence in paying to have a number that says my stores are busier than they are I have 3 shops in Desire all empty you could check out
