Deeding an object

Ok, bought a tv, its land tht is owned by my m8s group, and i sorta half own the land etc, the tv reciever thing needs to be deeded to group, i can share with group, but it wont let me deed it it justs greys it so i cant

Your group? So you should be an owner so the group rights issue should not be a factor (people have to have the correct rights to deed things). All I can say is to make sure that you have the correct group activated.

Okay, first you have to check the little box that says "Share with Group." When that's ticked, it will let the Deed button pop up. Had to do it to a radio when my alt couldn't get it to work.

get your friend to check your role settings and confirm that you can deed objects, if it is not checked get him to set it

*nods* Yes, but I am owner in my group, and I couldn't deed the radio until I checked that little box too. Although, I had forgotten about the group power thing because I'm the owner.. *blush*

You have to be a member of the landholding group and have that tag active on the object before sharing & deeding.

With few exceptions, power to control media is controlled by the owner of the land. If the landowner is a group, then all objects must match the owner of the land, hence the need to deed the object to group.

but he was saying he already clicked share with group

so no clue why it will not allow him to deed it, IF he has the ability in the roles to deed objects to group

as a side note, just in case, do you have the group tag active?

My thought is that he has the wrong group active and the object is not set to the right group.

That is the only reason why it would not deed, because no-transfer objects can be deeded (and most pricey tvs and radios are notrans).

I think this because he says it's his mate's group. I mean, so what? If you are a member, that shouldn't matter.

I also assumed he had the power to deed, but forgot about that. If he's just a member and is not an officer, and that power is not enabled, he would hit that wall too.
