This is pretty long and difficult and I've been working on it all day and finally decided I needed help. xD Ok, I recently set up my debit card and it works fine and such. So I first got it into SL as my payment method just fine then I tried to purchase some L's (after I got a mysterious 1 dollar thing on my account activity for my debit card). It errored though and then I tried changing the card, but then it started to say that it failed to go through. I waited a long while (set up a paypal account to my bank directly) and tried to use the paypal. (do we have to put money into the paypal before we do it or does it draw directly from the bank?) Well it errored as well saying it can't bill my payment method. Well I waited a while longer and tried to ender my card again and now it's coming up at Not authorised (supposed to be authorized?). That's where I am so far. Any help or suggestions would be greatly loved!! <3

I have a paypal account for my membership and it's taken directly from my bank account. Same thing happens if I buy any Lindens.

Couldn't purchase currency: Failed to bill your account. Please check your account's payment settings.

From: Emily Zeno hey Nine Catteneo I had the same thing happen to me if you figure out why please IM or reply thanks you! OK I had problems too and this is how it got fixed for me.... Log into Paypal... Profile tab at top of page... Under 'Financial Information' click Payment Agreements... Then just under the 'Linden Research Inc' you should see @View Agreement Details'...click.... Then near the bottom of that page... Funding Source to Use After PayPal Balance: CLICK...'Edit Funding Scources'...... then click the little button against (your banks name) Instant Bank Transfer enabled... Then save... Then build a nice 5 skinner and make a lovley G & T and go shopping

From: Nine Catteneo (after I got a mysterious 1 dollar thing on my account activity for my debit card) Just noting that the mysterious 1 dollar thing is a temporary authorization that LL does to verify your card is valid. It never actually charges to your account, and usually disappears in a few weeks. From: Alexina Galthie I have same error as Nine Catteneo. I dont understand why my creditcard not accepted by LL (My card valid and worked) Many people have this problem. The problem is NOT that LL won't accept your credit card... it is that your credit card will not accept LL. Due both to the illegal internet gambling and use of stolen credit card numbers, many credit card companies have restricted charges from LL. Even if there is no problem with your account, your credit card company might refuse charges from LL in order to protect you and themselves from potential fraud and liability. What to do? When LL tells you that a credit card payment failed, you should contact your credit card company and ask them (a) if they received the charge from LL, (b) if so, did they approve or reject it, and (c) if they rejected it, why, and what can be done so they approve them in the future. This call usually only takes a few minutes. Other options include re-entering your payment info (even if it's the same, sometimes that does the trick), or using a different credit card or paypal.

Look like this is not credit card problem (at least for my card). I ask my bank - NO accepted or denied charges from LL. My bank can not block charge because this charge newer received by bank

This could account for the problem sometimes. But I had the same problem back in May, and it was not my card. I contacted LL support and at first they told me that my bank was refusing. My bank said they were not refusing. AND, my alt COULD get funds using the exact same card. Eventually LL fixed the problem after several emails. However, as of Saturday, I am having the problem again. /me sighs, knowing she's going to have to go through this rigamarole again.

you may have to make a telephone call to SL, my credit card was blocked by them because I kept getting the failed transaction message and kept trying for days, when a card keeps failing SL put their own block on it.

I can tell you almost exactly what this is... I just had this problem last month. After using two different cards from the same bank with no errors at all, I had a card cancelled after unauthorized charges were made to my card from Mexico (three weeks after I returned from there). When I got the new card, I activated it with the bank, and then proceeded to update my payment details for SL. My card was declined and I couldn't update payment method. Tried to add the card to my Paypal account after that and Paypal declined the card. Went to the bank and had them look into it. They said they never denied the card, but that they use something called the Falcon Fraud Prevention system which is run by a third party. It uses some kind of algorithm to decide whether charges are iffy, and declines them. The check is supposed to be random, but previous fraud alerts on either the cardowner's account or posted against the merchant doing the charging increase the likelihood of getting flagged. Unfortunately, if the card is new, it can also increase problems because no authorized charge history with a particular merchant can be referred to. They repeatedly claimed that they didn't have my card number flagged literally; it was being picked on because charges from LL have come back due to fraud in the past. Also, it takes one good charge from a source before the system recognizes the validity of the merchant and lets subsequent charges through. Yet another fug Catch-22 with the credit system. I have not had a problem with LL since having that charge put through manually. Either contact LL and have them do a manual charge, or wait 24 complete hours after the first decline without trying again at the same merchant, and the hold should release automatically. I have also had this problem at Circuit City and at some ATMs. In every case, manual charges went through and then the problem never repeated itself with the same merchant on automated validation. Hope this helps

It seems there was a general problem with Paypal for a few days. I've had a payment agreement working perfectly since March and I suddenly got the "cannot charge" message out of the blue late last week. I did everything they suggest (setting up the agreement again, changing funding source etc) and nothing worked. My Paypal account was working fine for everything except LL. Yesterday I tried buying L$ again (withouth making any further changes) and it worked fine. Paypal has these glitches every so often; they go away again after a few days Isobel

Solution Finder don't help me. Submiting a ticket from basic account only allowed for following issues: 1. I'm trying to create an account and it won't let me. 2. Second Life tells me I can't access it from this computer. 3. My account has been shut off and I have no idea why; my account page doesn't give me any clues. 4. I need to report a region being offline. 5. I'm an estate manager and I need to request a rollback. 6. I would like to request a LindeX tier review. Payment method troubles ticket must be submitted from premium account, but I can not upgrade to premium because I can not pay any money to LL

I´m sure someone will come along shortly who can remember the e-mail address, it´s something along the lines of billing@ something or other. From what I´ve heard from friends that´s worked fairly quickly in the past.
